Back in 2008, Roaming Times, a recreational vehicle site with a consumer focus, branched out to include RVs with a bit of green flair. In that same year, Roaming Times announced that the Livin Lite RV would become the first recipient of the site's "Green RV of the Year Award." Interestingly, in 2009, Roaming Times declared that there was no RV deserving of the award. For 2010, the suitably named Earthbound RV captured the title.

Judging by the recent expansion of both Earthbound and Livin Lite, it appears as though capturing the Green RV of the Year Award is a recipe for immediate success. Earthbound went from a small outfit to one that now has, "more than 40 dealers" and David Hoefer, Earthbound's director, gives credit where it's due by claiming that the Roaming Times award, "played a major part in the success." Livin Lite, the 2008 award recipient, has also expanded over the past two years, being named one of INC. magazine's 500 fastest-growing companies in the U.S. Livin Lite's projected three-year growth figure is a shocking 611 percent.

Roaming Times is looking for nominees for the 2011 Green RV of the Year and hopes that suggestions from RVers, dealers, manufacturers, and even wannabe RVers will help reveal a candidate worthy of the award. Hit the jump for more on the "where are they now" status of the previous Green RV award winners.
