The 2011 BMW X3 is ready for prime time, with all-new sheet-metal and an equally new interior, a choice of efficient inline six engines and a standard eight-speed transmission. If that sounds like an enticing package, you can now head over to BMW's official website to build your own. The base X3 28i will set you back $37,625, but for that price you'll have to go with non-metallic black or white paint and a Leatherette interior. For another $550, there are eight different metallic paints from which to choose.

On the interior front, there are four different leather options to choose, each of which will set you back $1,450. A fully loaded 28i comes in at $52,150 and includes several different option packages including a $3,450 Premium Package, which includes the $1,450 leather seats and a $3,200 Technology Package with navigation and audio inputs.

Move up to the 300-horsepower X3 xDrive 35i and the base price rockets to $41,925, or $4,300 more than the non-turbo 28i. Max out the available packages and add options like smart phone integration and rear camera and you're looking at an MSRP of $56,750. All prices include $875 destination...

I think this is my first comment on Autoblog. I just can't help myself: that vehicle looks terrible. There isn't a flattering angle from which to view its over-styled, over-complicated mish-mash of ill-conceived aesthetics.

The c-pillar & rear window shape (i.e.: the last window on the side, whatever its called) - who could possibly think that weird hexagon-subsection-looking collection of lines looks good?! Gah.

Those curvy headlights? And who placed those driving lights? They look bizarre up there.

They also managed to make the BMW grill look like buck teeth.

And the black plastic trim around the wheel wells looks like something you'd find on a Kia (not the Kia's are bad, but rather they're at a different price point).

To summarize: whoever they hired to replace bangle isn't doing them any favors.

I realize this is irrelevant, but... my mom makes the best choco chip cookies ever.

Since we're all discussing unimportant things and all...

Is there a difference between this and the ones that have been running on public roads since 2004?

I'll buy one and rebrand it as X335i xDrive.

Wow, you is one UGLY vehicle. Looks like someone punched it in the face. Or is it just puffing out its cheeks to try and attract a mate?

Good thing is that you get to take your mail box with you wherever you go. That's what the slot on the front is for, right?

that's a lot of money for an X3

oh well, someone else's problem I guess as I'm the one that'll be paying for it

Is it just me, or this new X3 looks like it's pouting? Is it upset? Probably, as the styling isn't cohesive, nor its asking price of 57K. That's the entry level into a Range Rover Sport, or a fully loaded MKX (with way more technology and better reliablity) with money to spare. Most people who buy BMW's don't care anyway...I pity the fool.

Wish this configurator had an option to delete the boring.

I will take a 5 series wagon instead.

Well if money is not an object then yea. But maybe your limit is $50,000 and your wife refuses to drive around in a "used" vehicle.

I will take a 5 series gran turismo instead...psych! Why didn't they bring the wagon again?!

Love BMW (big money waster), but c'mon. I'll buy the badges for $5k and slap them onto to fully loaded RDX and have equal, if not better performance, then use the $10k savings for gas for a year. Yes, I have a long commute for work with beautiful scenery and excellent back roads for driving pleasure.

The third high pressure fuel pump says "hahaha, big money waster."
