SEMA 2010 Preview: Hyundai Lineup – Click above for high-res image gallery

Hyundai has already shown us its GoGoGear Racing Genesis Coupe and a Rhys Millen Racing Equus. Now we get two more looks at what they're bringing to SEMA this week. Hyundai has teamed up with DUB Magazine and Mummbles Marketing on a pair of Equus sedans.

The DUB Equus shows surprising restraint. While it wears 24-inch wheels, they blend in nicely with the body kit. Likewise, the grey-black paint scheme is sinister without being SEMA-shouty. Dare we say it? This is one SEMA ride we wouldn't mind spending some seat time with.

Mummbles Marketing Elegant Equus for SEMA 2010Mummbles Marketing, a new custom shop of out Harrisburg, PA, has turned the standard Equus into a luxo-custom it calls the "Elegant Equus." Mummbles didn't just focus on looks, however; some wrenching was done on the Equus' V8 engine, too. Thanks to a turbo kit from Legacy Innovations, a nitrous system and a Magnaflow exhaust, the Elegant Equus now produces 450 horsepower. Mummbles also adds an extra iPad (over the stock tablet the Equus comes with) that controls the air suspension, rear curtains, stereo and windows.

Check out all four of Hyundai's 2010 SEMA vehicles in the gallery below. You can also read more about the DUB Equus and Mummbles Elegant Equus in the press releases posted after the jump.

DUB MAGAZINE CUSTOMIZING HYUNDAI'S FLAGSHIP EQUUS FOR SEMA

Hyundai's Intelligent Luxury Platform Gets a Dose of DUB Magazine's Creative, Urban Influence

FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., 10/26/2010

Well known for prolific designs, the fabricators at DUB Magazine have teamed up with Hyundai to customize an Equus, Hyundai's all-new luxury flagship sedan, worthy of this year's SEMA Show in Las Vegas. The DUB Edition Hyundai Equus will debut featuring exterior, interior and audio modifications that tuners will not mistake for anything but the DUB Magazine style.

"We know that SEMA show-goers look forward to seeing the cool new cars like Equus and the unique ways we customize them," said Myles Kovacs, president and co-founder, DUB Magazine. "With this car we tried to give tuners an idea of what modifications can be done within the luxury segment."

Plans for the exterior modifications on the DUB Edition Hyundai Equus include Trex DUB Design mesh grille, DUB Design custom body kit, tinted windows and tail lights, and a custom two-tone, gloss black-and-matte charcoal paint job. The Equus will also feature a DUB Edition custom suspension riding on 24-inch TIS modular style 10 wheels with Pirelli Pzero Nero Tires.

No DUB Magazine custom would be complete without an audio enhancement. Therefore, to add to the already world-class Lexicon audio system that comes from the factory, DUB Design is building a custom trunk enclosure that will be fitted with Infinity Kappa components including nine Infinity Kappa Series speakers, KAPPA ONE mono and KAPPA FOUR four-channel amplifiers. Additionally, the interior of the Equus will feature DUB Design custom leather and suede, a DUB Design illuminated headliner and custom rear bucket seats.

The DUB Edition Hyundai Equus will be shown in the Hyundai Booth along with other specially designed cars exclusively built for this year's SEMA Show.

I'll take one with just the mesh grill, you can leave the body kit, and the rims
      • 4 Years Ago
Also I read on Wikipedia (I know) that They could be fitting the V8 drive trains to the Genesis Coupe. This seems like they are trying to take on Ford, or at least copy Ford.
It's attractive enough, in that subdued, big, luxury car kind of way. The only thing that really bugs me is that bar down the center of the grille. It just cheapens the entire front end.
      Errrrr....no.
"Thanks to a turbo kit from Legacy Innovations, a nitrous system and a Magnaflow exhaust, the Elegant Equus now produces 450 horsepower." So ALL of that only added like 65 horsepower? That can't be right.
What do you mean they just added a nitrous and a new exhaust how much HP do you think those will add?
Sli, apparently you didn't see the words 'turbo kit.' Must be one $#!tty tuning company if they can't even get 75hp from nitrous alone.
damn .. the dub one looks proper
I love it... Looks bad ass.
The "chain mail" front grille is really nice, as are the LEDs. If the hood ornament came off, I'd almost think this should be the stock Equus. I wonder how it rides on 24s though?
I'll take the DUB one.. just remove any and all reference's to DUB and I'll gladly rock it!
Hyundai is doing a good strategy for this car. Regardless of what the haters say it will find its niche and that is what this car will be a niche car. What good is a luxury car if everyone has one?
Exactly how does one "rock" a hyundai?
That's been my argument for years. And the main reason their resale value is so low.
Jesus, what is with all these damn lights in the front these days?

Does a car really need two sets of driving lights?

I'm really sick of this blingtastic look now...
      Look like a mattel car.
Two of the most un-cool things in the automotive world brought together. Hyundai and SEMA.
