The Green Hornet's multiple Black Beauties – Click above to watch video after the jump

We have to admit that we're more than a little excited about the upcoming Chrysler Imperial. Justice, thy name is body-on-frame.

To make the movie, workers constructed a total of 29 1964-1966 Imperials for various portions of filming and stunt work, and the producers have just released a quick video giving us all a quick behind the scenes look at the building the Black Beauty. There are even a few quick action shots taken from the movie thrown in for good measure. The Green Hornet is slated to hit theaters next year, so if you've got an old Imperial languishing in the back yard, now's the time to get that thing running. Hit the jump to check out the video for yourself. Thanks for the tip, Chris!

Why? It has Seth Rogen in it. To make it worse, he actually has to play a somewhat serious role. To make it even worse, it has to be an action role. It can't possibly be worth even pirating.

Wasn't there a similar sentiment about 'Mr. Mom' playing 'The Dark Knight'?

This movie is going to be stupid - fortunately, the fun and profitable kind of stupid

A 454? What the hell is wrong with these people? The mopar 413 or 440 that came in these cars will kill a 454, and you don't have to nod anything, it's already there. If the engine that came in the car didn't make enough power put a repro cross ram intake on it and you'll have 500+ hp

One of these would actually make my Boston commute bearable.

I'm confused, is this the Green Hornet or the Green Lantern? They're both coming out next year at the same time.
It's the Green Hornet, like the article says about 7 times. And it's coming out in January, Green lantern is coming out in June.

        It was a rhetorical question.

These cars are not "Chrysler" Imperials, they are Imperials (either Crowns or LeBarons). From 1955 to 1975 and from 1981 to 1983, Imperial was a separate division (like Cadillac and Lincoln are divisions of GM and Ford) and could be had in Custom, Crown or LeBaron trims. All Chrysler products except Imperial went uni-body in 1960. Imperials retained the full perimeter frame through the 1966 model year.

Sorry, I had to get that off my chest

Cream blush is mandatory if you want to keep that natural make up look out by the pool or at the beach resort. No matter how many times you go into the water, your cream blush will never wash off. It’s a great thing. But I couldn’t find a good makeup artist who works with cream blush make up. But this site really helped me great with it. They are really great. beauty how to

Never cared for Green Hornet and the Green Hornet with Seth Rogen has lame written all over it. Is it going to be a comedy, or spoof?

Personally, I have been more of a Green Lantern fan but I do have a similarly poor outlook for the Green Lantern movie coming this summer.

Comparing the two movies I'd wager the Green Lantern movie will be better than Green Hornet. Seen the preview of the movie and just envision a bungling rich boy trying to be a super hero while Kato does all the work, toss in a few jokes and wham you have the Green Hornet movie. It will most likely be #1 for one week then fall off the face of the earth soon afterwards (if we are lucky).

Wish it had a real mopar engine.

I'm not surprised, though - a crate Chevy is so much easier to work on and find parts for.

I expect Imperial prices to go up after the movie, then back down. Happens with every movie that has a classic car in it, regardless of whether or not it's good. When Starsky & Hutch came out everyone went crazy with the 74-76 Torinos. Until, that is, they found out that those cars were some of the most unreliable old junk on the roads and we so badly underpowered that the only time you'd win in a drag race was if the guy was on foot... and didn't know you were racing him.

The Imperial is a much better car, but it's still just an old luxury car with little aftermarket support. Movie fanboys sometimes like to buy old cars like in the movies they love, until they find out it's not like having an action figure collection. You need to store it, maintain it, insure it. Can't just stick em in a box in the back of your closet like a lightsaber prop from Return of the Jedi.

Even if the movie bombs..they got the car RIGHT! Well, except maybe for the Dubs that are installed. I sure wish those would go away.
