Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport – Click above for high-res image gallery

If you live in India, your list of available supercars to purchase just grew by one very fast model. Bugatti has announced it will begin selling its Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport there. Undeterred by the nation's 110-percent import tax, Bugatti is taking orders for the topless two-door, which will cost about 160 million rupees or $3.6 million USD. For reference, the same model would cost you about $2.24 million here in the United States or €1.6 million in places dealing with Euros. After receiving the orders, the cars will take six to eight months to be delivered

India is a blooming market for luxury goods manufacturers, and Ferrari plans to follow Bugatti by shipping over its California hardtop convertible sportscar. Rolls-Royce, Jaguar and Land Rover are already selling in India... and selling quite well, as the number of Indian millionaires continues to grow.

If you do live in India, are in fact a multi-millionaire and are on the fence as to whether a Veyron belongs in your garage, we think you should re-read our First Drive of the Grand Sport. Case closed.

I thought the Veyron 16.4's production run(300 cars) is over. or maybe my bugatti facts are all misplaced...can anyone please enlighten me...
Short answer, no not yet. The supersports will be the last chunk of the regular 300 run, but some of the special editions may or may not count into that number, and the grand sport ones add another 50 to that number as well I think.

And I bet they still sell.

I think he should add some bull horns, some India style seat covers, some dingle balls, and one of those funny horns a he'd be set.

I lived in India for a decade and no way would i ever buy a new car there. Every car receives a ding in the bumper before it gets a license plate. It is almost impossible to find cars without dings.

Plus it is criminal to drive cars such as these at 80 KMPH. What does the Bugatti use at that speed: 15 HP?

Do rich (private) suburbs with actual well paved roads exist in India?

I'm sure rich people will build their own race tracks if they have a Veyron.

I thought you can never get one since india doesn't allow LHD cars. So how come this car can make it in there when it's not even available in RHD?
Yes, I agree the roads are not there to drive any thing over $50,000. in other thought u might just want it to seat in your fancy garage and thats it. Indian infrastructure is very poor yet they are working on it sluggishly.

India's price is still "cheap" compare to our country's price.
We pay 6.000.000 USD "only" ( yes your eyes isn't wrong , is a number 6 followed by 6 digits ) for a Gallardo.

BMW M3 costs $345,000 here in Egypt .. imagine how much the veyron will cost
lol .. more than $7 million dollars i think
      • 4 Years Ago
It would be cheaper to buy a house in the United States and fly back and forth to enjoy your Veyron. Better roads, too.
        lol :) .. that's a great idea
As an Indian, I can assure you that the majority of Indian buyers of Veyrons won't be buying them for the driving 'enjoyment.' They're buying them to show off how filthy rich they are.

Any of you guys are lucky....In Malaysia our tax and excise duties amount to almost 300% tax on top of the original price of the car....It is a place where you can get a paltry BMW 320i for USD$80,000...and a new Ferrari 458 Italia is USD$643,000..plus all the taxes

Imagine how many Nano's you could buy instead of one Veyron.

Just a correction not related to Bugati.
Rolls were selling cars in India since long back.
In fact for a few decades Rolls were only going in UK and India...
Of course they had stopped during WW2 and and through the time when they were tossed between hands of BMW and VW..

Hey, if India's so hot on import taxes, let's follow their lead. Let's say we tax a buck on every megabyte of work outsourced to India and then brough back stateside. Just think of the money we could collect!
In Bangladesh, the little neighbor of India, tax for a Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport will be 800%, yes 8 with Two 0's......

So that's €14.4 Million or over 14 hundred Million Bangladeshi Taka that we are talking About.....

      Beat that!!
