The Smart ForTwo and Hello Kitty... who thought it would've taken this long for those two to get together? Someone's prayers have been answered with this, the two-seater wrapped in a vinyl flag of Sanrio's 35-year-old Kitty that never stops being cute. This is just another addition to the 22 wraps already available via Smart's Expressions program, and if it gets your attention, it comes in three flavors of its own. smart USA and Sanrio Partner to Offer Multiple Car Wrap Designs Featuring Hello Kitty® in Various Designs and Color Combinations
Wraps featuring the global icon now added to "smart Expressions" smart fortwo vehicle customization program

TORRANCE, Calif., Oct. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- smart USA Distributor LLC, a subsidiary of Penske Automotive Group, Inc., (NYSE: PAG), and Sanrio, Inc., best known for global pop icon Hello Kitty®, announced a partnership today to offer vehicle wraps featuring Hello Kitty for the smart fortwo. Vehicle owners can now order Hello Kitty vehicle wraps through smart USA's "smart Expressions," a customization program launched in July.

"We are expanding the highly successful smart program by adding licensed brands as part of our wrap offerings," said Kim McGill, smart USA's vice president of marketing. "Both Hello Kitty and smart are expressive with a passionate following, and this is a special opportunity to bring the two fan bases together."

The smart Expressions program offers Hello Kitty wraps in three different full body designs, each with a selection of color schemes, in addition to a series of partial wrap designs and colors. In total, there are 22 full and partial wrap design and color combinations from which to choose.

The Hello Kitty wrapped cars will appear at many Sanrio 50th Anniversary events this fall. The Hello Kitty customized cars can be seen at various stops on the Small Gift mobile pop up tour, which kicks off in San Francisco on October 23. smart cars will also have a presence at the Small Gift West and East Coast events, taking place November 12–21 in Los Angeles and December 2–5 in Miami.         But zero x2 is still zero...

        I really get the impression that when these hit America, everyone who had wanted one bought one the first year... now who's left to buy them?

        I mean, I respect a great many things about the fortwo, its MR layout, its incredible crashworthiness, it's ability to swap out body panels easily... but it's an EXTREMELY niche vehicle.

        ... hmm... I've heard something like that before.

        If thousands of years of human history have shown us anything, women are drawn in some strange way to things that are small, "cute" and pointless.

        Take Pomeranians or toy poodles for example.... or the fact that I have to fight my wife away from looking at tiny little baby shoes every time we're in target.

        I'm guessing your girlfriend already put a down-payment on one before you even showed her the autoblog post ;)

        How awesome would that be if it did, huh? Imagine showing up at the drag strip in your hello kitty car against hot rodding, peanus waving driver? You beat him in your sleeper car. Just imagine how the other guy would feel knowing he was beat not only by a smart car, but a pink cutie girl smart car? The look on his face would be priceless. Just remember to buy a digital camera.
