2010 Art Center Car Classic - Click above for high-res image gallery

Pasadena, CA can get particularly hot during the summer, so we thought it was an excellent idea when the Art Center College of Design moved its annual car show from July to the middle of October. While the event, which happened last weekend, did escape the heat, it still couldn't catch a break from Mother Nature. The inaugural autumn edition of the show was hampered by rain throughout the day.

Still, the Art Center managed to put on an excellent event to celebrate this year's theme, "Freedom of Motion." The best part of the show has always been the eclectic selection of cars on display, and this year was no disappointment. Everything from the 2010 X-Prize winning Peraves X-Tracer to the new 2011 McLaren MP4-12C could be seen on the grass. The Mullin Museum was gracious enough to bring out the famous 1937 Bugatti Type 57SC Atlantic, and the Petersen brought out a few of its cars as well. You can see all of our photos from the event in the high-res gallery below.

The car looks hot damped from the rain...

The main pic with all those red Ferraris is calling to be a wallpaper. Very cool cars

The Porsche GT3 looks out of place. It's a great car, but not exactly up to the level of eye candy as the others.

What's the blue car with the number 28 on it? It looks like it says "Alpine" on the nose and has the license plate "Group 4". This one:

The day that Autoblog figures out how to do an automatic slideshow is going to be awesome.

I just bookmarked this page and labeled it desktop. These pictures are fantastic. I love the logo close ups. I do wish I could see that whole C2 Corvette though.

Which model Ferrari is that in the top, left hand side of picture #21?

It's the red one to the rear of the F430 and Maranello.

It's not so much a car show as it is a thinly veiled open house. This event is put on by Art Center. Most if not all contemporary automobile stylists who have made it big attended this school. He Must Not Be Named (that ex-BMW guy) went there, much to the chagrin of the school.

Everybody at ACCD loves Chris Bangle.
(as does anyone else who loves and understands good car design) I'm amazed there are those that still question his taste while his design continue to look new and fresh after 10 years have passed.
