The latest is the Corvette Z06. And why shouldn't it be? The 'Vette has a long history of customization at Italian hands. But those have mostly been cosmetic coachbuilding jobs. This is another story altogether.
RF has taken the Z06 and fitted a supercharger to the 7.0-liter LS7 V8. The result? 667 horsepower and 607 lb-ft of twist. The centrifugal compressor, aluminum intercooler, high-flow injectors and custom exhaust help it get to 62 mph in 3.3 seconds and up to 211 mph – assuming you can get all that power down – while 380mm/6-pot brakes up front and 345/4-pot brakes out back help it come back to a stop.

A series of exterior and interior cosmetic modifications have also been carried out, including what appears to be a bare carbon fiber reskin, putting Romeo Ferraris' Z06 toe to toe with Chevy's own factory ZR1 in more ways than one.

Notice the driver's seat pic shows normal paint on the lower door sill (pic 16 & 17). Definitely fake CF and very expensive/pointless rice.

That is pretty sick, but the Vette is already fiberglass, which I believe is quite lightweight, so how much of a weight savings is it really to go to CF? (and that doesn't even include the ZR1 which has many CF panels already).

Looks crazy, but my guess is that it is much more of a visual thing, than actually being of any real performance benefit.

The nose and front fenders are already CF OEM and I think the hood is too.....much of the rest of the car is super thin.

Between the sound coming through the door and the heat from the floor rest and tranny tunnel - this car is already thin-skinned.

Vortech and Paxton have had centri LS7 setups for years now - thats not something new. So basically he reskinned the doors? He should replace the glass. Thats easily 100lbs.

It does look bad ass though.

NOTE - Currently drive 09 Corvette.

I'm not so sure it's a wrap. Look at a large view of the close up of the left front wheel area. Notice the unfinished edge of the panel around the headlight, it looks like it continues the weave.

It would be cool if it were real cf, but since it isn't this car is rice to me. Yeah so it's supercharged but it doesn't make up for the fakeness. This is coming from a gm fanboy.....

What happens if someone keys' that car?

If you own this car you probably also have a body guard, he'll talk to the guy.

Easy, you break his knee caps......

They swapped the seats for decent ones, so what else really matters?

Thats all the Z06 really needs. Non of the rims, carbon fibre etc. The Car is a beast as it is.

Love the 3D carbon fiber. Look like the stuff I bout at http://www.getcarbonfiber.com
      • 4 Years Ago
This is not real carbon fiber, but in fact DI-NOC carbon fiber vinyl. The same stuff you can get here: http://www.carbonfiberfilm.com

To cut weight he should replace some panels with CF (hood, door panels, etc.), reiterating on Legislative Geek's comment, replacing the glass and shave weight from the cabin. But negativity on the side, it's a REALLY great modded Vette.
