The story of the P4/5 Competizione – Click above to watch video after the jump

The story of James Glickenhaus' P4/5 Competizione continues with Chapter 1 of the story put together by Kinetic Fin. The car has long been in gestation, and although we have no idea how many chapters will be involved in this tale, it looks like we'll be seeing the completed racer soon.

So while you won't get a glimpse of the finished product in the video, Glickenhaus will explain his motivation and he'll do it among some of the other eye-pleasing cars in his collection. Follow the jump for the prologue, and let the road to the 2011 Nürburgring 24 begin.

      RED FLAGS:
      1. Wacky shots of a tattooed guy who I'm assuming is the filmmaker, usually looking like some hipster carnie who just woke up
      2. Tons of crap music over random footage to pad the lack of actual content
      3. Youtuber-style cuts during expositions
      4. Use of every video filter effect known to man

The filmmaker is trying waaaaaay too hard to make this seem like a more meaningful thing than it actually is. Filmmaker guy: Try concentrating on being informative next time- It's probably much easier than whatever the hell you've been doing so far...

it's super iconic, but it always seemed cluged-toghther to me, not really flowing.

I don't have any endurance racing experience although when I was young and stupid in an act of civil disobedience on the day the lowered the national speed limit to 55 I did drive my 275 GTB from Boston to NY in two hours.

My lack of experience won't matter as I won't be driving at the 24. The guys who will are names that you'll recognise and have won a race or two.

That is Brad's 360 and Brad's goat. Brad will be Brad and Goats will be goats.

For the record I haven't had plastic surgery.

We will be bringing our P 3/4 0846 to the 24 for display in our pits and I may drive her for a Parade Lap. I will endeavor to keep her between the lines.

Ha! I love that you've posted here. Many self professed car guys in your position wouldn't even know of such a site.

Regardless, you've got great taste. Good luck!

you embody everything that has been lost in the automotive community. I commend you for everything you have done... good luck at the 24.... and you know if you need a backup driver, i get my license in a month. :D

Very cool. I have a lot of respect for your projects and enthusiasm you bring to the automotive community. Seems like very few people build what they want anymore and simply settle for what already exists. Here's to creating!
