2011 Hennessey V700 Coupe on the dragstrip – Click above to watch video after the jump

We think the 304 horsepower Cadillac CTS Coupe is pretty cool and the 556 hp CTS-V Coupe is an outright badass. The power pundits at Hennessey think any car or truck could use a little more oomph than it leaves the factory with. John Hennessey's crew has massaged the blown LSA motor under the two-door Caddy's bulging hood and the results scream for themselves. The 2011 Hennessey V700 Coupe pushes out 700 hp to the rear wheels and makes nearly 740 pound-feet of torque.

How does that all that power do when the car is launched down the dragstrip? The trip from tree to finish takes just over 11 seconds. Hop the jump to see the action for yourself.

      Impressive.

Wonder what the mods are. Too bad the coupe is so funny looking. Does that thing need a cage?

Amazing lack of wheelspin on launch... I suppose those drag radials did the trick. In other news, that has got to be the loudest supercharger of all time. The noise coming out of that car was 10% engine noise, 90% supercharger whine.

In other news, I'll take two please.

a little soon? well, maybe not considering he went missing in february but still. i guess all john hennessey needs is his own barrister michael or legitimate crime kingpin and he'll end up missing too eh?

all i have to say on the matter is, the guy has tuned dozens of different models since the viper scandal. obviously he wouldn't still be in business, shooting videos where he makes personal cameos, or selling oversized-overpowered lotus elise knockoffs if he was out there SCAMMING people as certain individuals would like to point out.

and just for the record, he reminds me a lot of john c reilly (talladega nights, step brothers)...

is the UAW going to sue because Hennessey installed the super charger without using union workers? He probably used child laborers that work 7 days a week for Chinese worker pay. That Fascist! amiright OC_cars!

... oops wrong thread, sorry :)

Actually more like 4400 lbs with a driver and the automatic trans. not bad.
700 hp and it cant break into the 10s?

      Pretty unimpressive.
The CTS-v coupe weighs 4000 lbs? Wow.

And if all it took to get into the 10s was air pressure, dont you think they would of done that?

I'd like to see you get a 4,000+lb car into the 10s with 700hp. By the way, it's only 2 tenths off from being in the 10s. You can do a lot of stuff that'll get it there without raising the power. Tire pressure can remove at least 2 tenths.

AWWWWWWW, here we go go with some ford cry baby making sure his mustangs are'nt left out. The ZO6 AND ZR1 have plenty for any mustang you want to bring to the line. This article is about this Cadillac, which is awsome and beautifull, not to mention extremely fast from the factory. Go to the correct blog if you want to comment on your tangie. In the meantime, if you drive one of the tangies you mention, I would stay away from this beast, yes, I mean the factory model......

Wow how is this guy still in business? This guy is the big con artist around.

AWESOME!!! Are drag radials, slicks? If not, I'm sure they have minimal treads. It was interesting to me that they did'nt power brake the car when launching off the line. I guess if they did that, the rear tires would go up in smoke. I'm guessing that with street tires, you can add about .3 - .5 seconds to each time?

      What a tool.
And I'm referring to John Hennessey, not the car. Beautiful vehicle.

I know that the viper stories years ago are a dead horse but this to me shows that nothing has changed.

How is he a tool? And even if he is, why does it matter? The dude could be wearing an Affliction shirt and a flat bill cap, and that wouldn't take away the fact that he does some incredibly awesome stuff.
