Video: Audi Quattro Concept plays with our emotions

Audi Quattro Concept – Click above for video after the jump

Audi unleashed its Quattro Concept at the 2010 Paris Motor Show, but the automaker isn't done sharing with us just yet. We now have a short new video clip of the Quattro, and we can't stop staring. There are so many questions that will most likely go unanswered. What's it like to drive? How much would a production version cost? Does Audi accept our ~~stolen~~ totally legit American Express card? You know it's been at least several minutes since you last ogled the Quattro, so get your fix by watching the this new video. If that's not enough, we also have a longer cut that ditches the annoying background music. Both are posted after the jump.

They will build this.

I've been waiting to see them bring this car back for years, and I'm so glad they have.

As for pricing, that's anyone's guess, but the range topper has got to be around the Â£45-55k range.

Wouldn't be surprised to see the TTS engine in this too, and an even cheaper entry level model in the mid Â£30k's.

It would be cool to see high tech performance gadgets too, Audi's answer to the Nissan GTR ? If they go that route it will certainly cost more, but either way, it will sell like hot cakes.

Hurry up and build it.

what are all these Mitsubishi comments about, check your facts first people.

I dont think the designer of the 8C Competizione has it in him to copy a Mitsubishi lancer.

I guess Im the minority but I am not a fan of this at all.
Looks like 4 designers each got a section.

The front end doesnt relate to ANYTHING. Also, its way too angular.
I guess they had to go with the new look Audi theme in the front but the new rear theme doesnt matter I guess.

The wheels are too big which makes everything too tall and high.
The front bumper area is huge and the overhangs are too long.

Its weird to have shapely shoulders like the A5 with those C pillars. Just not going well together.

Section a few inches off and it would look better.

Mitsubishi Concept X - 2005

The Audi LeMans Concept was the first for this design language. Meaning, Mitsubishi is copying them.

Yep this will be expensive, more than RS5 or M3. Its over 1000lbs lighter than RS5 and 0-62 in 3.9sec which is going to be around 3.7 to 60mph:

"Loosely based on the Audi RS5, the Audi Quattro concept sits on a wheelbase that has been shorted by almost 6 inches. The rear overhang was shortened by 7.9 inches, and the roofline was lowered by 1.6 inches. Together, these reductions add up to a much tighter package and more muscular proportions. To help bring the weight down to 2,900 pounds â€” roughly the same weight as the 1984 Sport Quattro â€” Audi replaced the steel body of the production RS5 with a custom aluminum spaceframe architecture clad with carbon fiber panels. The RS5â€™s V-8 and dual-clutch transmission was also swapped out for a turbocharged five-cylinder and a manual six-speed gearbox (another nod to the original car), further reducing weight.

Unlike the Sport Quattro, which was a token 2+2, the Quattro concept only has room for two adults and rolls on a 102.4-inch wheelbase. Behind the seats, thereâ€™s space for helmets, a roll cage, or a couple of fire extinguishers. The actual cargo deck extends further, with Audi opting for a classic trunk lid in place of a hatch. The undersides of the Quattro conceptâ€™s carbon body panels were left unpainted in another weight-saving measure."
