2011 Honda CR-Z with optional accessories – Click above for high-res image gallery

Honda's big introduction at this year's Paris Motor Show may have been the 2011 Jazz Hybrid, but that doesn't mean the Japanese automaker didn't bring some other automotive fodder for us to look at. Here, for example, is the new CR-Z hybrid hatch wearing some of Honda's optional visual accessories.

Honda is really trying to emphasize that the CR-Z is a sport hybrid. By adding things like larger wheels, a mesh grille, unique blue-tinged headlights, carbon fiber trim and a rear spoiler, the little hybrid's visual sportiness has indeed been improved without falling prey to the over-modded tuner look. This CR-Z may certainly look the part of a new-age hot hatch, but even the fanciest of body jewelry won't help the not-entirely-sporty and not-so-efficient hybrid powertrain under the hood.

Click your way through our gallery of live images below to see and judge the added visual modifications for yourself.

Hey if you think it's a good car, put your money where your mouth is and go BUY IT.
      That's the rub ain't it?
I will make this bet right here, right now. If this car does well in the USA market and turns out to be a really popular car and people are willing to drop their hard earned cash to walk out with it, I will delete my auto blog green account.

That's right, you heard it here first: Buy a CRZ, delete overvolting's account.

      I'm not worried :)

We're all waiting anxiously with baited breath.

No one gives a sht what you think. If you don't like the car..that's great. That doesn't make it any better or worse. People who like it will buy it....people who don't won't.

You've never seen the car, never driven the car, never sat in the car, yet you go on and on as if you were part of a design committee. Don't be so pathetic.

The model has a wider stance and the side crease creating a rake; with interiors that are nice and roomy, futuristic dash. Wraptivo adds to the styling with having the car in flat matte black with accents that are glossy to break up the monotony of black. The roof, hood and a portion of the center of the bumper will be wrapped in di-noc Carbon Fiber film, which will enhance the texture on the gloss and matte combination of Wraptivo’s vinyl films. The design department has been headed by tuner car stylist RJ De Vera.

The CR-Z must be a good compromise because none of the extremists are happy.

Exactly! The proof is in the drive. Honda doesn't have to deliver the best mileage of any hybrid on the road or the best power or so on and so on to deliver a good ride. Everyone's cup o' tea? Certainly not, but what car is?

Notice it tends to be a lot of regulars on this blog that talk smack about anything they themselves are not aligned with. I don't find such rant as being productive. Rather reminds me of the political crap on TV. The world is black and white so therefore there's only one way to think and that's my way!

From what I've read the CR-Z sounds like and interesting drive, I look forward to driving one.

It's too bad this car is all show and no go. The only thing sporty about this extremely disappointing a poorly executed "parts" bin is perhaps its styling. I wish Honda would spend less time with these frivilous mods and actually try to improve the handling and power of this car (ie. do the obvious to everyone except Honda--get rid of the ima system that does absolutely nothing to enhance the performance of this car (all it does is add weight, complexity and make this car slower and worse handling for no benefit in mpg).

It's not sporty? What do you need a car to get to 60 any quicker for? Does it make that much of a difference for you?

A 16V GTI would get to 60 in 8 seconds and it was considered quick. Big deal if you can't get to 60 in 5 seconds....what's your hurry on public roads?

Honda never marketed this car as a true sports car...do you think the same company that made the S2000 is that stupid to market a car the same way they market the S2000? Is your thinking that limited to not realize the difference?

The fun factor of cars these days has, unfortunately, been redefined by people like yourself into being an ego-boost issue rather than driving a car that's fun because it feels fun. Speed and acceleration are nothing but replacements for lack of ego....and there are plenty of cars you can choose from these days that will fill that void for you.

Go buy a Camaro or Mustang....they seem to suit your "needs" much better than a CRZ.

The problem is that Honda is promoting at as a sporty car and 0-60 in the 9-10 second range is not sporty when compared to other sporty cars that have driven (ie. wrx, mazdaspeed 3, even the civic si (which is by no means fast is still faster than the CR-Z). It's fine with me if you're happy with the car it's just that for me I can't consider any car that would have trouble keeping up with a 4 cylinder Sienna minivan "sporty". In any event I'm sure you agree it would not have hurt for Honda to have offered a gasoline engine option as myself along with many others (including Consumer Reports) question whether there really is much benefit from the hybrid system in this car vs. a gasoline only engine.

It's plenty go...what the hell do you need to go any faster on public streets for? 90 MPH and plenty of pickup on surface streets isn't good enough?
