2010 Aston Martin V8 Vantage N420 Roadster – Click above for high-res image gallery

There's not much we'd change about the Aston Martin V8 Vantage, as it's compact, stylish and thoroughly addictive already. But that hasn't stopped the British marque from launching a series of updates and upgrades. The latest came in July with the launch of the N420 edition coupe, a race-car-for-the-street variant inspired by the company's motorsports prowess at the Nurburgring. At the time, Aston announced that the N420 – itself the successor to the earlier N400 – would be available in both coupe and convertible bodystyles, but it has only now released the drop-top model ahead of its debut later this week at the Paris Motor Show.

Like the N420 coupe, the roadster keeps the same 420-horsepower V8 engine and the optional Sport Pack suspension as standard, and upgrades with a sport exhaust system, new wheels, aero package and reduced weight as compared to the standard model. Prices should come in around the $145k mark, available with either a six-speed manual or Sportshift automatic. Have a closer look at the Gaydon goodness in our gallery below, and stay tuned for live shots straight from the Parisian show floor.

This is a stunningly beautiful car and I would love to drive one! I know I would appreciate it a lot more than that sourpuss behind the wheel in the second picture. How can you possibly frown while driving a car like this?? If that were a picture of me behind the wheel, I'd be grinning bigger than James May driving a Bugatti Veyron flat-out!

      Another gorgious AM. Anyone surprised?

I've always loved Aston Martins but really I think its time to come up with something new.
I mean I know don't mess with perfection but does perfection really last this long?

      I'll take it!

Well, only after I buy my wife the DB9 that she wants.

Lovely car, though I'd want the interior to be a light color. Convertible seats in black are very uncomfortable if you leave the top down in the sun.

It was and still is the most beautiful car in the world currently in production. Not the DBS, not the DB9, not even any Ferrari or Maser, just the V8 Vantage. Hope to own one in the near future!

IMO. DBS is the most beautiful car.

Absolutely! My #1 favorite car: compact, sexy, strong, elegant. Perfect.

I truly believe the Vantage is one of the most beautiful cars of all time but Aston Martin's aesthetic is starting to look dated in my opinion. Well, except for the one-77.
How is sleek, nearly perfectly proportioned, and finely executed, getting dated?

AM could stick with this for 100 years, and very few other companies would come close to that sort of fantastic design, and style, even given that much time.

i agree with russell, thats its getting dated. as in its time for am to make the next evolution in the way their cars look. new headlamps and tail lamps and grille would do it for me.
