Bugatti 16C Galibier concept – Click above for high-res image gallery

AutoWeek is reporting that the Bugatti 16C Galibier concept is going into production, and the ultralux bruiser will arrive in 2013. There remains 40 examples of the Veyron scheduled to be built, but when that is finished, AW says the Galibier will be prepped for a run of 300 units.

Instead of four turbochargers, though, the sedan will employ two superchargers affixed to the W16 engine and throw down something in the neighborhood of 800 horsepower. And compared to the super-duper coupe that got this whole thing (re)started, it'll be something of a bargain: just $1.5 million.

Might want to place an order for a bigger piggy bank...

In reference to the exhaust tips, it's not new. The Type 57 Atlantic had 6 tips, one for each cylinder.

And, the editors here will hate the interior. Why? Because it's got the same outdated steering wheel that's been in the Veyron for 5 years already.

Is it me or do those wheels look fugly?

Also: Someone should teach whoever rendered that about lighting, the car looks like it's glossy black up front and matte black down back.

Bugattis are known for their multi-toned paint jobs. I think this, like the Veyron, is hideous. Great mechanicals, and love-it-or-hate-it styling. The last Bug that I liked was the EB110 :(

Ok, looking through more pics of this thing, it's possible that they painted it two different colors or something, but that lighting is just really bugging me.

Wheels are still ugly as hell though.

This is one sexy car. And... it's a HATCHBACK! I love the resurgance of the hatch/fast back. How odd that we hear over an over that Americans will never buy hatchbacks, yet the Panamera, Rapide, Tesla, X6 (vile as it is) and this Bugatti too... so many of the top brands are ignoring the tired, illogical BS that 'hatchbacks don't sell. Right on. This is another hot, functional car bucking the trend. Yes, please!

I see posh passat, there's something vulgar in the exterior design, it's not imposing enough.

I would automatically assume the person getting out of this car was here to kill me.... yet some how thats a good thing.

      8 exhaust tips???
It's got 16 cylinders!! Being a W, that means you got 2 tips for each bank of cylinders, not much different then any other car!

Something seems "hot wheels" with the 8 exhaust pipes but, in a good way to me...
yes sir - that car is gangster!
I like the rest of the car but the rear bumper looks like a church organ with all of those pipes sticking out of it.
