2012 Mercedes-Benz CLS commercial – Click above to watch video after the jump

Mercedes-Benz has just released a new ad for its new 2012 CLS. The big German luxury yacht is one of the more stylish sedans in its segment thanks to its fresh redesign, and apparently, rascally young whippersnappers will do just about anything to bring the car to a stop so they can get a better look. Or something.

Though the overall "coupe-like" shape of the CLS remains for next year, Mercedes-Benz has infused the vehicle with a number of design elements aimed at giving the four-door a little bit more soul. Along with the corporate upright grille and dizzying headlight array up front, the sides of the vehicle now feature some seriously flared fenders and an elegant crease just below the shoulder line.

We dig. Mercedes-Benz plans to show off the 2012 CLS in the flesh at this year's Paris Motor Show starting next month. Hit the jump to take a look at the new commercial.

The design of this car confuses me.. its too over the top to be elegant... I dont think its how you say beautiful... it just gives you alot to look at...

I gotta admit, it made me chuckle :P That's kinda what i'd do if i saw one haha

        lol..how old are you?

Really? Jaw dropping?? Where do these kids live? Lametown?
The kids are pretty good about what is cool... CTS-V Wagons, Fox chassis 5.0s, white Challengers get 'awesome'.

Interesting to see what my kid'll say.

Probably should note that this is an EU-market commercial from their global website. It's not intended to be aired on US television. I'm sure the marketing in the US will be quite different, if MBUSA even does a TV spot for the CLS at all.
I see the EU plate but why do the kids sound American?
Its quite obvious that this was not shot and is not intended for US consumption. Those pedestrian signal controls don't actually do anything here in the US.
Casting? Might have been shot here, or dubbed into "global-sounding" English...dunno. Just saying it's not a US ad. I didn't create it. :)

If only it looked as good as the original.
Awesome! I love everything about it. good job MB

I am getting fed up with the new Mercedes commercials.

The ones with kids are the most displeasing... Kids really need to be this snotty? "Imma be drivin' my girlfriend to prom in this one!!!!!" Yeah, in a decade.

And then the commercials for the old dopes who apparently all fall asleep at the wheel. I just don't like them... "My Mercedes SAVED MY LIFE." Not drinking and/or not having mistresses will do that too.

The design of the CLS hasn't aged well.

Remember when they first came out? We all had the wow face. Now, they are kind of repulsive looking.

      I'll take a regular E-class, thanks.

Good lookin car, but it isn't as radical or jaw-dropping as the first one was when it was new. Will sell in droves nonetheless. The current one is still a stunner though.

The dramatic effect the 1st gen CLS had on everybody was likely due to the fact that it was something 'fresh' in the automotive segment. There was no 4-door coupe-like vehicle on the road at the time (the RX-8 doesn't count).

The WOW effect for this segment is gone. This is a good evolution of the 4-door coupe theme and I like certain aspects of the design better than the 1st gen. Namely, the rear fender flares and the taillights.

" THE BEST OR NOTHING" - such a great line.
