Ferrari 612 Scaglietti spy video – Click above to watch the video after the jump

It's been a hot minute since we've heard any rumblings about Ferrari's 612 Scaglietti replacement. The oldest member of the Prancing Horse marque is due for an overhaul in the very near future, and while we've only seen a singular spy video that barely shows off the new body style, we can confirm one thing: Ferrari makes one hell of a sweet-sounding V12.

Seen here running around Italy's Fiorano racetrack, this 612 mule is obviously testing out new engine mechanics, and the revised exhaust is an aural delight for anyone whose ears perk up at the sound of naturally aspirated, twelve-cylinder, Italian-bred powerhouses. See (and hear) for yourself, after the jump.

when i see it enter a corner, I think its wildly undeersteering, but then I remember, a: its not front wheel drive and b: the front wheels have a lot more spokes than the rear so it looks like its spinning faster.

Great sounding exhaust! ALTHOUGH, I can't help but think that it's exhaust isn't very far off from what a riced, loud exhaust Civic sounds like (and f.y.i. Civics, including older models can revv quite high) - Please don't down grade my stars though - I've been working hard to get my rating really high :)

What I mean by `mechanical`is it sounds more like a machine with moving parts then a fart can blowing hot air.
And how can you even begin to compare a 998cc 4 cylinder engine to a 5748cc 12 cylinder? I don`t understand what you`re trying to prove....

Call me an old phart if you will, but that is my favorite Ferrari. Not because it has a back seat, but because there are no excessive styling gimmicks, no horse nostrils, no exaggerated scoops.
