2011 Audi A8 – Click above for high-res image gallery

Audi has activated the 2011 Audi A8 configurator. but it hasn't appended prices to either the car or the options. Not only will this exercise not cost you anything, it shouldn't require a lot of time: there are but nine exterior color choices, four interior colors, two wheels and fifteen interior package options from which to choose. And since there's no way of shocking yourself with a sticker, why wouldn't you choose everything? Well, almost everything. Audi hasn't included the A8L W12 yet, even though the long wheelbase model is set to go on sale alongside the standard A8 this November. Regardless, customize to your heart's content and look for our full review soon.

      Needs a larger front grill.

Obvs that car will be prone to overheating.

This does not look like a luxury flagship. It's slab-sided and very bland. The carbon copy of the A4 tail lights design is just plain lazy. The side profile looks like every other Audi sedan since about 2005. Why would anyone buy this over an A7 (which looks much better but still has weak tail lights)??

The new Jaguar XJ looks far superior.

For this one...Only interior is baddass, everything else is out of character.

Too bad there's no room for a bigger one :(

The design looks soft for Audi. Just doesn't seem very crisp and precise which is what I always thought Audi design was about.

you guys are damn pathetic, ow wait a minute, you all whine because its not coming to us before 2011 but here in europe it was released for a while ago, i saw the car in real life, put in ass in it and yeah that model was 200 000$ but u'll never find that quality in other cars.

The rear end of the previous A8 was by far one of the nicest on any car. I absolutely loved it. Now what have they done to it? Put in the tail lights of the A4/5. It looks so out of place on the car. Giant car, with those tiny tail lights. Ugly. I don't mind the front that much. I'm sure in real life those front bulbs look impressive, especially at night... but man, looking at that car from any other angle but the front is just wrong. The old A8 looked so much better.

I feel like Audi is one of those luxury brands that I could make a purchase from without trying to look like I'm somebody. With class as important as it is in Europe, buying a Mercedes S-class there is more like a social statement than a nice car purchase. But I don't get that with this car. Anyone, old or new money, can have a nice car without people looking down on you.

headlamps always look kinda sad to me...

I saw one at a dealer in Wisconsin yesterday and I certainly agree that the design is a bit soft/plain. It was parked next to an A4 and it's nothing more than a larger A4 with different headlights. I think the headlights look pretty neat in person though. That's probably because it's the only element of the car that makes it stand out.

I like the previous A8 better... even tho it was kinda of dull IMO it looks better then this

I also agree that the previous generation was better. The new side crease makes the car look older. Also, if Audi does not want to go back the their previous two piece grill set, they should at least make this one smaller.

        Agree 100%.

The previous gen was hands down the best design in its class. Hard to make that claim for this one.

Audi has been turning out exceptionally good looking cars for the last decade, but they seem to have lost a step lately. Maybe the 2000s will turn out to be the golden age for Audi design.
