Audi A7 Sportback – Click above to watch video after the jump

When it comes to the new wave of weird sedan-hatchbacks popping up from various manufacturers, the Audi A7 Sportback is hands-down the most attractive, at least to our eyes. Whereas the BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo has a bit of a problem with proportions, the A7 Sportback manages to maintain the grace that's become a trademark of Audi exterior design. At least that's what we've seen from the press photos. Fortunately, Audi has just churned out a bevy of videos that take the time to pour over every last inch of the car so that the forum of the interwebs can make a more informed decision.

The verdict? We're still of the mind that the A7 Sportback is as attractive as this segment gets. Watching the mega sedan prowl the country paths and beaches around the Italian island of Sardina only solidified our opinion on that front. We don't expect you to take our point of view for gospel, though. Hit the jump to check out the four videos for yourself. Thanks for the tip, Catchmyshadow!

Ok, guys, I saw this model with dealer plates at a car wash in Palo Alto, Ca two weeks ago. I stared at it for the longest time as I simply couldn't place it. It does NOT look like any Audi, BMW or MBZ made before ever. In fact, I finally came up with an Italian influence jamming into my brain. If this car has some grunt and finesse it may be the yin and yang of an old Arnold movie, you know, "sleazy but demure". I was intrigued by it but this being Palo Alto no one paid any attention to it.

I hate those fake air intakes at the front which look like there is a intake but its just closed black plastic. Seems like Audi can't break away from them. Sadly most carmakers do so but other cars usually have bits of actual air intakes in them.

I saw the A7 traveling south on 280 in Palo Alto CA on Monday morning. Its a good looking car! Could not tell which engine was in it. I was trying to take a look but couldn't quite make out the engine badge in the traffic. I was surprised to see on our roads this early. Maybe a press car.

That interior shot at night is positively sexy.

no people complain about Honda/Acuras having too many buttons..

That interior is too confusing.. I'm sure I can learn it over time. Simple and elegant Audi.. simple and elegant

The A7 is the most beautiful teutonic design in a very long time. Those rear quarters ape the classic Fiat Dino. The perfect machine for blasting across Europe.

I will wait until the see the car myself before trolling over it, same story when the new A8 came out, I had my doubts until i saw it in an auto-show. Audi's design team has won almost every possible car design award they can get with its new fleet and I trust the Audi team more than other auto manufactures overall when it comes to interior/exterior design, engineering, technology utilization and execution, you can easily pick a few ugly cars in other brand lineup, but for Audi, it has been consistently pushing out beautiful cars for the past 5 years.

Imho the handsomest of all the four door sedan fastbacks-maybe nicer than the Rapide?
Don't like that Dame Edna has another German residence now maintaining homes in
BMW where she started in the last 5 Series and now pervading on almost all Audi's.
The car is overall very elegant and understated in it's clean simplicity but interesting in
it's symmetry and detail. I definitely like it tho some may argue that it isn't much of a design departure and doesn't scream " a lotta money rolling here".

"We're still of the mind that the A7 Sportback is as attractive as this segment gets."

Being the world's tallest midget is not something to brag about. It's still not very attractive. I think that there ARE attractive lines to be had somewhere in this body style, just no one has found them, yet.

Me thinks it looks very good except for the fact that at first glance I thought it was an old VOLVO !
Looks good from every angle but a direct profile shot. Then you notice the fat lip it has for its back bumper.

      ummmmm..

This car doesnt sit well with me. First impression.. not so good IMO.

I wish Audi would change up their design... maybe I would be more impressed... this car looks like the porsche panamera had its way with a A4..

1)Headlight design and LED reminds me of the ones on the Lexus LS600h. Lexus introduced them on the LS600 back in 2006.
