It would seem that the vitriol between the trio of presenters on Top Gear and Ben Collins, the man behind the Stig's helmet, isn't just for show. During a recent charity event, Jeremy Clarkson, arguably the leader of the TG three amigos, made it clear just how he feels about Collins' unmasking of himself by calling the former tame racing driver "The Greedy Tw*t." That's certainly one way to put it.
Rumors began dusting up over whether or not Ben Collins was the racer in white after it was widely publicized that Collins was seeking to publish a book on his life as the White Stig. The BBC attempted to file an injunction stopping the publisher from moving forward, but a judge found that there was no reason to stop Collins from moving forward.

The BBC reacted to Collins' actions by putting the driver out of a job. Or at least out of a job in show business. Overall, fans have been less than thrilled with the debacle, with most saying that the driver has gone a long way toward ruining a good thing for everyone.

Even so, we're guessing the Collins memoir will have no problem finding a global audience. After all's said and done, will you read it?

anything that irritates Clarkson is A-OK by me.

If Ben Collins was smart, he'd write his book in binary...or morse code...and have it be completely fictional and ghost written by a comic.

Imagine a fictional autobiography, that's hysterical once translated, about a 'Stig' growing up w/a webbed buttocks, learning about ducks, and being banned from several states.

What an idiot. Someone could make that into a 6 volume novel.

I really couldn't care less, who WAS playing the part of the Stig.

The Stig IS a supernatural driving character in a car based entertainment show I enjoy. That is all.

Huh. I watch Top Gear for the cars, not the personalities. In my book that makes all of the self-promoters tw*ts.

The guys who produce the lovely photography are the ones deserving a raise.

Ben Collins knew what being The Stig entailed when he took the job. This is a stunt to get publicity and sell more books, and I don't like attention whores.

      damn right hes greedy

hes was paid to do a job he knew he wasnt supposed to talk and now hes going against that and telling all.

I dont mean this to be over sensationalised but its the same as a spy writing memoirs giving away secrers.

the mystery of the stig will be gone, even if its someone new well now know whats going on in the background

If Collins was in dire straights with his business he should have gone
to the other three and laid it all out for them. Maybe they could have
helped him out of a jam and at the same time kept the Stig under
wraps. After all, he could have got an advance on writing his memoirs
for a later date as well. He's bitten the hand that fed him and
deserves a public slap from Clarkson as he's ruined what was a good
      thing.

Meanwhile all BBC has to do is get another Stig and carry on. then again
Collins isn't a bad looking bloke so I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up
in front of the cameras as well. maybe that's what he was angling for.

"Overall, fans have been less than thrilled with the debacle"

I think you need to get your "overall" facts straight.
