Lamborghini teaser – Click above for high-res image

Step-by-step unveilings of new car models can be a painfully slow affair, but when it's something as exciting as a new Lamborghini, chances are that it'll be worth it in the end.

Following the barely-a-teaser shot released three months ago, this new image just released by the Italian factory gives us a glimpse at a section of what looks like the taillight on what is expected to be the company's new Murciélago successor. The Murci has served admirably in its range-topper role, having carried on in numerous variants since 2001.

What you're looking at is the first in a series of six teasers slated to be released by the Bolognese exotic automaker ahead of the car's expected debut at the upcoming Paris Auto Salon. The rest of the shots will undoubtedly follow in a timely fashion, so stay tuned.

Looks like the rear end with a possible deployable rear spoiler, the metal arm could possibly be a frame support for the wing, my question does the S shaped light pattern mean anything towards the naming of the car
      • 4 Years Ago
I have no idea how the hell this looks like a taillight to anyone
      • 4 Years Ago
To me it looks like the hood. It looks like a wiper on the far right side of the picture. Thoughts?
@Greg - doubtful, but the reverse works, placing the scoops above the engine, and the windshield wiper at the bottom of the back windscreen
        • 4 Years Ago
I couldn't agree with you more! Looks like a hood with some carbon vents, and a wiper + windscreen on the right. Can't wait for more teaser shots...
I think you're spot on, hood looks pretty sick, angular but more aggressive than the broad murci.
I really don't know what that is. I thought that was the door opening.
I don't know what it is for sure, but I definitely don't think it's a taillight...
I was thinking it's a shoulder air intake just behind the door, maybe?
Actually, it looks like air scoops/vents on the roof and the wiper of the back windshield to me.
That's very clearly the wiper arm on the right side of the photo.
@Indefinite Implosion - no, it's the hood, the light is just artistic to emphasis movement etc. wiper arm is a dead give away.

Serious credit goes to the pchoper who released the images and the photog who used dof to his advantage leaving little gray to play with.
@Indefinite Implosion - totally. if you look at the first teaser with that broad hood and now all this vent action up top... i dunno... looks almost like two different cars. should be interesting. Something akin to the evora hood in terms of the way it allows for cooling and tapers down front towards the ground
        • 4 Years Ago
You are correct sir!!! Definitely the front of the car.
Looks like the rear bumper & exhaust area...
I really hope its not another Murcielago or Gallardo, they haven't made a new model for like 10 years, reventon is kind of a jumped out Murcielago, right?
@zamafir You sure your not thinking of their Las Vegas show room? I'm in the La Jolla area quite frequently and usually stop by and oggle the cars when I have time. I only saw the Reventon twice, once on the main show room floor with the other Lamborghini's, and once more when it was in the little glass building next door where they used to keep their really exotic stuff, Veyron, CCX, Enzo, etc.
Agreed with Rob, Symbolic Motors in La Jolla CA had a Reventon for a short while. Got to see it twice before it was sold, as good as the car looks in pictures believe me its even more stunning in person, on looks alone the price tag is justified.
It is, but it's about the most hyper Murcielago derivative ever produced.

It's just too bad they didn't do anything to justify the pricetag other than to make it look ridiculously awesome.
This was clearly designed by Lucius Fox. Those are Batman's ears.
@Groza - no. I live in SD. Work in La Jolla. Pass symbolic every day, deliberately. The reventon was there for ages. You may have just caught it right before it finally left.
@Rob47 - yup, just like the zagato variants, looks and a bit of interior tweaks are enough.

@Groza - twice? dude that was stuck in the aux show room for over a year :).
        To me that's enough.
I think that metal bit on the far right of the photo might just be a windshield wiper. which would make this the hood of the car.
      Cannot wait!
Looks like a Hypershot 3D rendering to me
      • 4 Years Ago
I think it's a close-up of the hood where the hood meets the windshield. That looks like a wiper blade near the right of the image.
Here's to hoping that it's like that roofless gallardo from '03
      • 4 Years Ago
I wonder if the bat will be driving it now that he wrecked his civilian batmobile during a spree of heroic antics.
Oh, for sure this is the upper half of the rear fender! A high sitting exhaust perhaps? I doubt the red is anything to do with a light source? If anything it's gotta be a reflection caused by red tube lighting elsewhere.
The timing may actually be just perfect. From what i've read they havent cast all of the roles, and apparently the script is still getting worked on, so it would be awesome if it were to make an appearance.
Geesh, and I thought BMW was the biggest tease with the 1 Series M.
Uh oh. Those look like hood scoops. I'm already not liking it. I hope it turns out okay.
