2010 Woodward: Chrysler display – Click above for high-res image gallery

First thing we did after arriving at the 2010 Woodward Dream Cruise was head out to the various automaker displays on Woodward Avenue. And, as you can see, that includes Chrysler. Included amongst the normal and expected 300s, Wranglers and Ram Trucks, we spotted a couple gems that are well worth your consideration.

Take, for instance, this Ram-bodied monster truck. Naturally, it's crushing an import from the '80s... We also got a kick out of the little slot car racing track set up to keep the kiddies (and kiddies at heart) happy in spite of the rain. Speaking of which, sorry about all the drops on the cars... sadly, unavoidable.

We went ahead and assembled the best shots from Chrysler's officially confiscated parking lot. See the lot of 'em in our high-res image gallery below, and of course, stay tuned for lots more coverage from the Woodward Dream Cruise.

Check out our livestream for a live view of Woodward as the classics drive by.

The Nukizer and Power Wagon concepts are sweet, for sure. I dig the new Mopar winch bumper.

      @ Lloyd

I disagree! If the past 30 years never happened we would not have say a Viper, Ram, Nascar, or even the Minivan! On another note give me the Nukizer Jeep NOW!!!!
I know. I was reticent to make that comment above because Chrysler was the company with the balls to put concept cars to production. But on the other hand, they seemed to put out far too many mediocre cars that were designed by committee and went straight to the rental car market.

I'd like to see Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep do better. Be an engineer's car company with fewer compromises.

Chrysler should never forget any period in their past, lest they repeat the bad ones. The period that never should have happened, though, started when they allowed in Daimler. Who damaged the company and the product lineup. Which led to Cerberus, which led to death.

Their display had some awesome vehicles in it, and a few of those would be welcome in today's portfolio (by the consumer, not the government).

      Challengers are awesome.

      Dear Jeep,
      Please make the Nukiser.
      Thanks,
      Eric

i'd still buy that Protege over anything comparable from Chrysler.
They should have had the monster truck running over an old Chrysler car to represent the company moving forward in the industry, crushing their past.

Because, really, they need to move forward and act like the past 30 years never happened.
They should have it sitting on a Prius. That I would have liked to see.
Ditto. This old-fashioned "anti-import" vibe is sickening to see, particularly since the Mazda Protege (like all the "sacrificed" imports in the past) was leagues better than anything Chrysler ever put out in the 90's - Sporty, efficient, reliable.

Chrysler, move on. Have a brand vision and use it, or just fold up the tent.
I don't think the point was "look, we're crushing an Japanese car." It was more like "look, this big truck is parked on top of a little old car."

Otherwise, they would have picked something from a more-loathed company and not peeled the badges off it. (And, as others have noted, it's not from the 80s.)

People have to understand that Chrysler devotees like myself believe that the automotve world begins and ends with Chrysler.
From HEMI engines to Roadrunners, Chargers, Super Bees and Challengers, Foward Look fins and Airflow design, NASCAR Wing cars and the 'Cuda- everyone else follows Chrysler.
Chrysler has always had a hard road to walk and has survived, lead, yes even thrived under diversity. Torsion bars and Ram Induction, Cab Foward and Altered wheel base funny cars Saturn moon rockets putting man on the moon thanks to Chrysler engeneering- it's always Chrysler at the forefront. Yes we do celebrate Chrysler, Dodge and MoPar with pride and determination. The best is yet to be- GO CHRYSLER !
Your forgot the M-1 tank. That was a Chrysler too.
I don't understand Jeep. They've got so many cool Jeep-based-pickup concepts, but they refuse to put one into production.

And don't give me the BS about competing with the Dodge Ram which isn't a compact pickup.
Damn straight!. That Nukizer is awesome! Even if it were toned down with a gas engine and say- 35's instread of 40's... You can have AEV build you a J8, but the cost is obscene. A simple cab-n-chassis based on the J8 would be sweet.

What you're not seeing is that Mr. Korzeniewski got his photo taken with the Fiat twins and boy were they hot.

Like years past, Chrysler's main display is easily the best one out of all the manufacturerers. It pays proper homage to the past with cherry Mopars and AMC muscle cars (which is what the entire Dream Cruise is all about) and does an excellent job of marketing their products today. This year Chrysler had two, the one photographed here and another in Birmingham between old and new Woodward were Chevrolet used to set up.

That one was dedicated to Jeep and gave people the opportunity to crawl all over Jeeps including the new Grand Cherokee, which is ridiculously nice inside. It's like it came from a completely different company.
        And that company was Daimler.
