Thirty of the greatest Formula One battles since 1935 – Click above to watch the video after the jump

The second worst part of the Formula One season is right now during the summer break when F1 fans have to endure four weeks of no racing.

We've made it this far and have but a week to go until racing resumes at Spa, so to get us over the hump, we have the help of Breakdown Cover. The website has compiled thirty of the best on-track battles dating all the way to Tazio Nuvolari's Alfa Romeo beating a passel of Mercedes-Benz Silver Arrows in Germany in 1935 and put them all into one place.

We've dropped one of our favorites after the jump, Ayrton Senna's first lap antics at Donington Park back in 1993. Click the link for the other 29, and feel good about it – it's not wasting time if racing is involved.

Senna was just friggin incredible in the wet... nobody and I mean nobody could match him on a wet track. Didn't he win at Donnington in a huge down pour a little later in his career in the Williams that wasn't a very good car/down on power? If I recall he just flat out ran away and hid.

Senna was in a McLaren (His last year there....1993). Prost (who absolutely hated driing in the rain) was in the lead...followed by Damon Hill in the dominant Williams Chassis...followed by Schumi back when he drove for Benneton (Powered by Ford). Senna went from 5th to first in the course of one lap (the first lap) in appalling conditions....he could have laped the entire field (and was about to) before he decided to just finish the race and get his points....

        Epic Race

I would've liked to see the 2006 pass Alonso did on Schumacher at 130R at Suzuka. Kind of a straightforward pass ... until you remember they're doing about 180mph.

I think that's the closest I've ever come to seeing someone get killed on live TV.

This part of the race was also featured in (the amazing) TopGear's Senna special, truely great to get from 4th to 1st in 40 seconds. Well, in rainy conditions, his weather.

You know what they say Bruno, Got to love to Honda drivers. Aryton was a great Honda driver.

Yes, Senna was the MASTER in wet weather conditions and a true warrior.

Ahh the good old days of F1 such great legends, i.e; Senna, Prost, Hill, etc. On a separate note: There is a lot of excitement in the broadcasters voice. Makes today's broadcasts seem pretty darn boring.

        kkk
        Did you like the broadcaster?
It´s funny because he is Galvão Bueno, the guy from the trending topic "cala boca galvão" (shut the mouth up, Galvao) on Twitter during the world cup.
If you haven't heard about it look for it in New York Times.

He still is the F1 broadcaster here in Brazil.

Autoblog has got to have a brazillian guy in the team, I'm quiet sure now.

Agreed... all the other clips I've heard the announcers sounded bored. I can't fathom watching this without jumping out of your seat.
