Perana Z-One - Click above for high-res image gallery

Monterey has seen its share of debuts and this year stays true to form. We've already seen the unveilings of the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport, the new Boss 302 Mustang, the Infiniti G25, Jaguar XKR175, and McLaren MP4-12C. It doesn't end there, either. Tucked among the exotica at Concorso Italiano was the new Zagato-styled, Hi-Tech-built and Superfomance-sold, Perana Z-One sports/GT.

It's beautiful. And the build quality is exquisite. The panel gaps put all the high-priced Italian vehicles surrounding it to shame. The styling is definitely that of a European GT, a shape that holds its own in the company of an Alfa Romeo 8C, Aston Martin or a Ferrari 599. With that Corvette engine under its long nose, however, it's reminiscent of classic Italian/Amercan collaborative sports car efforts from companies like DeTomaso, Iso and Bizzarrini.

We weren't alone in being smitten by this new $100,000 sports car either. It was mobbed all day, even amidst the dazzling variety from the likes of Lamborghini and Maserati. We're hoping to arrange some seat time on the Perana Z-One, but for moment, feast your eyes on the gallery below and you'll understand why we see big things in this vehicle's future.

Looks gorgeous no doubt. Back is as good looking as on 8C. Front looks really good, but got a say Alfa looks better there.

the reborn Thomas Cheetah ....... very pretty, but that's Z06 money and change, right? For what? To meet strangers in gas stations? Bruce

Meh, looks a lot like a Cheetah, from ~50 years ago.

reminds me of the new Alfa TZ3 Corsa in spirit.
especially the back panel, all the cut aways, the way the panel gaps intersect, the layout, the winshield rake......

seems like the 8c is much smaller......not sure why people are drawing that paralell.........I guess they share a similar front fender cut away.....

"seems like the 8c is much smaller"
The Z-one is 2cm longer, 3cm wider and 11cm lower than the 8C.
        It also weights 390kg less.

Maybe it is just the proportions I am reacting to: the cab-rear design

Wow! only a $100,000?!?! Looks like it would be more than that!

As I was driving home from work in Santa Barbara yesterday this was on a flatbed next to me with a Superformance roadster. Agonizingly gorgeous car.

Front clip is a little busy, but it is quite striking overall. The spartan interior is somewhat elegant, if understated.
Not totally nuts about the interior, but I can live with it. It's better than the Vector, anyway.

That body, though. Wow. Beautiful proportions, and you are guaran-FRICKIN-teed to get attention EVERYWHERE you go (what the f--- was THAT?!)
Yes, that body is a total bargain at 100 large...

That's actually stupid cheap money for a low-volume high-styled Italian sports car. Great investment opportunity. That thing is gorgeous.
its a south african car, not italian (it was styled by bertone tho)
      I think its a steal at 100K.

Whoa pretty good looking. The front looks kinda drag out though =/. They could have made the front to look similar to AM. Headlights is ok, they could have made it different. The back reminds me of a TVR sagaris. Interiors is ok, nothing special.

      Overall, not bad.

It looks a little like an Alfa Romeo 8c and a Corvette mixed together.

Not a bad thing but its not the most unique car I've seen
