Thai replicars – Click above to watch video after the jump

Take a walk down any number of Thai streets and floating markets, and for a couple thousand Thai baht you can bedeck yourself in the latest fake designer goods. Take a few thousand baht, or more, to a Thai man named Chris and he'll build you a sports car that is just as fake as that Louis Vuitton purse. From the $9,000 Porsche plagiarism you see above to a $12,000 Ferrari facsimile, Chris will do it all. He says "God will understand." But will Porsche? Follow the jump to watch the video. Hat tip to Sea Urchin

I remember when I was in the Marines we went to Pattaya on shore leave (Cobra Gold '97). Found a ton of places that made knock-off shirts. I bought a number of Tommy Hilfiger shirts. I didn't realize until we got back on ship that they were really 'Tummy Hilfiger'... I suppose the gentlemen (read: 9 year old kid) didn't have the best grasp of the King's English... You get what you pay for!!

Is it bad I want a black 993 Turbo replica??? For 20,000 dollars all in and with a pumped up 500HP EJ25, it seems like a hell of an awesome way to have fun on a budget. The only problem is the spite you'll get from the original manufacturer themselves.

I'd rather spend that baht on a trip to the Fairtex Muay Thai gym in Pattaya.

Is it just me, or does that car have an unreal amount of play in the steering? Look at 28 seconds. The cameraman doesn't shift around very much, plus you don't see much discernable movement compared to the outside window. The car doesn't have any body roll. It looks like a child playing an arcade game.

      Yeah, it's a replica, but I wouldn't mind having that replica Ferrari 330 @ 1:18!
