2009 Meadowbrook Concours – Click above for high-res image gallery

After more than a quarter century as a mid-summer fixture at Meadowbrook Hall in Rochester, Michigan, the annual Concours d'Elegance is moving in 2011. Come next summer, the renamed Concours d'Elegance of America will take place at the Inn at St, Johns in Plymouth, Michigan. The Inn is a significantly larger facility and will be able to accommodate the cars, their owners and visitors much better than the old mansion.

The Inn, a former catholic seminary, was renovated into a hotel with a 27-hole golf course in 2006. The concours organizers wanted a location with an on-site hotel and banquet facilities.

Given the history behind MBH, and the immediate area, I can't believe people are even thinking of moving Meadowbrook to Plymouth!

They should think twice about this, the 'old' mansion gave class to the event. The inn at St. Johns is not bad for what it is, but I don't think is well suited for a concours d'elegance.
