Chevrolet Aveo Sedan? – Click above for high-res image gallery

Now here's a curiosity. Our legion of spy photographers managed to lay their lenses on a small sedan testing with a bevy of 2011 Chevrolet Aveo hatchbacks. We aren't exactly positive, but our best guess is this little guy is the four-door version of the bottom of the Bow Tie line. If true, this is the best look we've had at the Aveo sedan – save a few patent drawings – but there are a few complications with the theory.

For starters, very little of this car dovetails with what we've seen of the five-door. We could gloss over inconsistencies like vastly different doors, complete with incongruous handles and side view mirrors, but things get murkier when we have a look at the two cars' lug pattern.

This new creation clearly rocks four lugs, while every other camo'd Aveo we've seen uses five. Chances are General Motors probably isn't interested in using completely different spindles, rotors, wheels, etc. just for a different body style of the same vehicle. So what is it? Your guess is as good as ours.

That does not even look like a GM product, and the top of the dash is also vastly different from the Aveo hatch below it. Either it is a mule of some sort, or some other OEM's compact.

The Aveo sedan is just as silly as the Yaris sedan, but I guess like my daddy said, "If there's a seat, there's an a**."

I wouldnt say the Yaris is silly.. It has a huge following, many performance upgrades and in europe they have a Yaris racing series.
Okay, but the Yaris in Europe....it's a hatch, right?

A 4-door notchback version of the upcoming smaller-than-Aveo Chevrolet Spark?

'Cuz everyone loves a stumpy, awkward sedan ;)

      Hatchimon pls.

I love that there's camo under the camo on the front.

Also, this looks similar in shape to a current Sentra. Just throwing that possibility out there.

I hope it is not a Buick compact based on the Aveo platform.

This thing looks like the sedan version of the Chevrolet Agile

For shure, I'm very concerned about it, but that grille can't say the opposite... this really could be a sedan version of the little monster Agile...

it's a yaris or an echo. definitely based on the door shape and the toyota sub compacts use 4 lug nuts. comparative testing.

Unless the new Aveo is full of earth shattering great engineering and stunning new looks - who cares?

Why don't they just drop that nameplate altogether because that is not a name that would draw me into a showroom?

This could be an incredible small car if priced under 10K. I loved the artist renderings autoblog showed previously.
