Renntech SL65 AMG Black Series – Click above for high-res image gallery

Allow us to provide you with your daily dose of lunacy. Not too long ago, the head honchos over at Domani Motors happened to find themselves with a Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG Black Series in their showroom. Unsatisfied with the car's already otherworldly performance, they called up the twisted minds at Renntech to have them install the tuner's Perfomance Package 1. Think of it as PCP for Silver Arrows. The work included remapping the car's ECU, installing an easy-breathing exhaust and a few other tricks. The result? A mind-bending 805 streetable horsepower and 1,000 pound-feet of torque.

The team had to install a unique, 100 percent locking rear differential just to handle the dizzying power from the engine. Likewise, the gearbox had to be upgraded as well. Even so, we're guessing this particular SL65 AMG Black Series would have no problem turning its tires aerosol should the driver demand it. So far, neither Renntech nor Domani Motors have released any times on the car, but we're guessing the numbers are nothing to scoff at. Hit the jump for a video of the car on the dyno, as well as the press release.

RENNTECH has teamed up with Domani Motors to create this show stopping, tarmac shredding SL65 AMG Black Series. Since the release of RENNTECHs Performance Package 1 for the Black Series, it has created quite the buzz within the international tuning market. Domani Motors, one of the largest and most respected exotic, sports, and luxury automobile dealers in the U.S. called up RENNTECH to outfit their beautiful pearl white Black Series. The now RENNTECH modded SL produces a staggering 805 HP and 1000 LB-FT of torque at the crank.

Performance Package 1 contents include ECU/TCU tuning, Dual Intercooler Pump Upgrade, and RENNTECH Sport Exhaust. This particular vehicle was also equipped with a Transmission Upgrade and 100 full lock as loads rise. The Super-Lock LSDs clutch packs make the unit incredibly quiet and smooth, without the kind of chatter usually associated with limited-slip cars.

      AWESOME!!

The numbers won't be that great because there's no way to get all that power down. The stock SL Black already had issues with that.

Wider competition tires/slicks would be the answer. I'm thinking 325 or 335, if they don't make them have them custom made.

The person who owns a car like this could certainly afford to replace its tires every 1000 miles or so.

It seems like there is a new one of these stupid, tasteless Mercedes-Benz based tuning 'specials' everyday. New Mercedes, are tacky enough on their own. Way to drag down the image of a company that once stood for engineering, elegance and DIGNITY. Poor Bruno Sacco!

I am SHOCKED that a reputable company like RENNtech would do business wth Domani Motor Cars. You would think that they would have checked out the complaintes listed with the BBB, Florida Attorney General and the FBI Internet Crimes Units before doing a project together. I have been personally taken for $10k on a Ferrari transaction and would highly recommend anyone considering doing business with Domani Motor Cars check out the blogs and you will clearly see the tactics employed by their ogranization. If you would like addition information on how I was scammed, please contact me at svashovsky@aol.com.
