The 2011 Ford Edge and 2011 Lincoln MKX configurators have gone live for your shopping – or time-wasting – enjoyment. The Edge SE starts at $27,220 for the 3.5-liter V6, but you can hit it out of the park before even leaving the first page by selecting the Edge Sport all-wheel drive for $38,070. That'll get you a 305-horsepower, 3.7-liter V6 canvas to play with. There isn't much more you can add to it, but after stuffing it like a turkey we got it up to $45,171. For those with a mind to be a kinder on wallets and Mother Earth, there are SEL and Limited trims on offer, as well as the 2.0-liter four-cylinder EcoBoost engine (...eventually).

The Lincoln MKX puts less on the table when it comes to varieties: the front-wheel drive starts at $39,145, the AWD at $40,995. Both get that 3.7-liter V6, six-speed SelectShift transmission and SYNC as standard fit. If you go the package route, your work is just about finished, because they cement quite a few exterior and interior choices. But don't take our words for it – click the links and get to configuratin'. Hot tips, Drew and Tony!

The Lincoln Grille looks so good on the MKS, but they supersized it on everything else!

I hate that big 3 bar grille. Why not a cool snout like the Kuga. Make it a Kuga XL
        • 4 Years Ago
Looks better on the sport version.
Luis....Kuga is the Escape replacement...different beast
        • 4 Years Ago
They should make the Kuga for sale here period.

Have you seen the MyTouch tech they have in this thing? It looks pretty good. GM needs to start upping the tech in their vehicles. I've never been a fan of Fords vehicles interiors but in the new Edge & MKX their interiors are finally good looking.

That edge keeps looking better and better, the classy sporty look just works for it.

that MKX...please draw and quarter whoever decided to use that grille...the front end looks far too large for the car and its just plain hideous, and the previous front end looked better. i'd say they need to just change the rear end and leave the front alone.

Why is it that we're only notified when Ford launches configuration sites? This happened with the Fusion and the Fiesta, too.
I think a VW configurator was launched recently too, along with some Hyundai. Ford's just been releasing refreshed and new models lately.

Now that Acura is fixing their grille mess, the aftermarket companies can move their focus to designing a replacement for these. Well the Ford anyway. Nothing can help Lincoln at this point

      Nice CUV's.

Curiously, now that Ford has modernly competent engines, a super tall axle ratio would be palatable. (as standard Edge. But that would deter EdgeSport & MKX purchases)
      3.7 V6 + front wheel drive + 2.77 axle ratio. 20/28 (better than 19/27 of 3.5 & 3.16)
      3.7 V6 + 'awd' + 3.16 axle 18/26 (better than 17/25 of 3.5 & 3.39)

where is the configurator for the non 'whale crashed into the sliding glass door' nose of the MKX?
oh, it's at ford.com (seriously i hate the snout on that thing)

The grill reminds me of Geely's recent grills - the whole part about it being designed after a warrior's mask. It looks like a knight's mask.

        GRILLE!
i dunno....the new Edge with the blacked out grille looks pretty damn sharp. But honestly, I would much rather have the MKX than the Edge. I think in this case, the Lincoln looks better.

Interesting that, according to the configurator, the Sport has an all black grille. I can't decide if that's better or worse.

i'll take an edge sport with ecoboost in blue, it'll be like a 2.5 scale of the R32 :D
