Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton doing the Magic Bus thing to Silverstone – Click above to watch video after the jump

Now that the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes F1 team has two World Championship Winning drivers who don't hiss and break into hives when they hear each others' names, principal sponsor Vodafone is making the most of it. Recently the two built – and we use that word loosely – one of their own cars. More recently, for a spot of fun before Silverstone, Hamilton and Button hopped into a 1966 VW Camper and drove from the McLaren Technical Center to the track, stopping at a gas station along the way to hand out race tickets. You'll find the shenanigans in the video after the jump. Great tip, Focus!

I have to admit I have become more of a Mclaren fan because of these videos. There was a belief that these two couldnt work together. I for one believed them. How can two world two world champions work together. But these two seem like they are having fun. They actually act like they are friends and it shows on the track even. Although Jensens had a bit of bad luck. That and Lewis seems to have really matured over the last couple years.

      I see no vid :(

I don't think we'll see Mark Webber or Sebastian Vettel doing anything like this in the near future lol.

Ha! Seriously, eh. That's a civil war now. Even their mechanics and engineering staff are angry with each other. With every driver in the paddock behind Webber, it seems that Vettel will need to grow up quickly.

It's a testament to driver maturity that McLaren's two "alphas" can get along well (though I'm sure they're not "buddies" as is being portrayed).

Yeah I agree about Austin. For those of us "Yanks" that are into F-1 this will be a fantastic opportunity. I would love to see anyone driving around handing out free grandstand tickets are u kidding me??? Also I think Hamilton and Button are the two English speaking guys that may be able to promote this sport, not to say they are not all cool because they are but Mark Webber as great as he is always seems angry. Looking forward to GP in the states if anyone is giving up freebies you got my e-mail!!!!!!!

That was good, Lewis made me laugh when he adjusted the side vent window and said 'for extra downforce'..

I hope we get to see them both again doing something like this, it seems they do get along quite well.

I can't believe they just handed out grand stand tickets like that! Living in Cali, going to see an F1 race means an expensive journey on top of the price of tickets. I guess that's the life of a US F1 fan (punn intended). Can't wait for the Austin GP. 2012!

      It's not a camper though. It's a 21 Window Deluxe Microbus.

Nice bus, they always look better on 911 wheels.
I wonder if Jenson would have placed higher in the race had he entered the bus?
The bus would just have to sit in the middle of the track as they ran into it and smashed themselves into tiny bits of carbon fiber then done 51 laps and won.
