2011 BMW M Sport 5 Series – Click above for high-res image gallery

We got an early peek at the new M-Sport aero program for the BMW 5 Series not too long ago via a handful of leaked brochure images. But shady pictures of renderings aren't quite the same as seeing the car in the flesh. Fortunately for everyone on the interwebs, the good folk over at the 5Post forum have managed to get their paws on what looks to be a trove of legitimate photos of the body kit on a 2011 5 Series. The shots show the new front bumper, complete with its aggressive new lower air inlets borrowed from the M-Sport program on the 3 Series, side skirts and a glossy rear valance.

The kit also throws in a tiny lip spoiler for the rear trunk lid and a more aggressive suspension setup for a slightly more sporty feel. The photos also confirm that the smaller, three-spoke M steering wheel will show up as well as a set of unique seats. Fancy. From what we can tell, buyers opting for the sport package will also be able to choose between two new wheel programs that include 18-inch and 19-inch options.

This is the first 5 series where I have not liked the styling, it's not bold or particularly elegant and this M package is pretty bland.
Other than the color, I don't mind this at all. Like.

I'm just not feelin' BMW's latest styling efforts.

They've gone from having some of the classiest looking cars on the road to either too bland or too convoluted styling.

      :meh:

How about an option to delete the run flats?

19's will be $400 each, and will last maybe 20k miles. Figure on keeping the car 100k miles and you'll drop $8000 in rubber alone. All that for a car that most likely won't ever see a track.

I love my BMW (335), but those run flats are a major PITA. I put some 760's on instead and couldn't be happier. Already patched them twice (read: saved myself $800).

Mix that with the $140 oil change (dealer) and it makes me think twice about getting another one. Yes I can and will change my oil, but come on...

I totally agree, the price of run-flats on my 330i are insane! It was 1600$ to change all 4. That is just insane. Once your warranty runs out on a BMW it is time to sell. The price of maintenance just isn't worth it.

      BORING!

I've been on the fence of the 5 series styling, and part of me was hoping the M aero would win me over... it hasn't. Seems like an ecclectic mixture of being bland and awkward. My fav was the E34 (although most like the E39 more), but after those cars I feel like BMWs designs started going downhill.

I agree...it looks incredibly boring. I hope the M5 will be more attractive.

I like it better than the Bangled previous edition. But styling is personal taste, as the comments here clearly demonstrate.
I like it. It is understated.

WHY, why would BMW introduce this car in appliance white?

It is not a flattering color for a big luxury/sport sedan.

The M-sport package looks good... and I like the new 5-series design in general, but it is still a huge, heavy behemoth of a main-line full-size sedan. Can't even really call it a mid-size anymore. I guess that makes the 7 series into the extra-huge-size sedan.

This Car already needs a mid cycle refresh seriously........

I love those seats! Thank GOD for non-leather option.
FINALLY someone else that doesn't like leather.

WTF is the fascination with leather? It's hot and sticky in the summer. Cold and hard in the winter. I hate leather seats.

Now suede (or alcantara) inserts to keep you from moving around? Well that's another story - I totally dig that, but a full leather seat is terrible.
I've got two little boys. Leather is easier to clean.
They should offer cloth on more BMWs. I know this is said time and time again, but a LIGHT entry model BMW with cloth interior would be so kick ass.
I like the appearance bits, and those seats. Something about the car still seems a little 'blah', though.
Not bad until the front end. I realize Europe has some ridiculous design standards for pedestrian safety, whatever. The blunt face does nothing to enhance the otherwise tasteful design BMW has produced, even if the design is much the same as before.

Boring mixture of 3-series and 7-series...
i love the new 5 compared to the previous gen... but those rear taillights are reminding me of the Infiniti M35's...

the E39 is still the best 5er in my opinion tho
