2012 Nissan GT-R Facelift – Click above for high-res image gallery

Look closely and use a bit of imagination and it's obvious that Nissan is upgrading the GT-R's front and rear fascias for the 2012 model year.

The changes are slight, but they deserve noting. Particularly the new rear bumper, integrated diffuser and sharper flares aft of the rear wheels. The front grille has been revised with a more horizontal opening than the previous model and with camo covering the side intakes, it's obvious that the bumper is going to be benefit from a slight restyling.

Our spies caught both a standard GT-R and its SpecV sibling at the Nurburgring, so it appears that these changes will carry over to both models. Expect an official reveal sometime this fall.

Not sure I like the front too much, but I don't think it would make much of a difference for me because if I bought one i'd get it in black.

Hopefully it improves performance without costing too much more.

I had the wettest dream last night.....that Nissan announced that the GTR was gonna come out with a real manual transmission. Then I fell back to sleep and had a terrible nightmare.....I was surrounded inside the bank I just robbed $80k from.

Soooo, how long until Nissan designs a new GTR grill that looks that anything close to the R32-34 series? This looks like a start (there's actually an attempt to distinguish the upper and lower parts of the grill). Great if they can beat Mitsubishi's record of 3 years to go from the freakshow grill of the EVO VIII to the grill of the EVO IX (which was the EVO 7 grill everyone wanted in the first place)

Different exhaust tips in the last pic, but the same license plate.

Is there still a ridiculous markup on these things, or has it calmed down a bit? A buddy of mind was looking at getting one, but all the dealerships he talked to wanted well over sticker for it. Ended up buying a Porsche instead.

This will most certainly void the warranty of existing models.

The grill is cleaner than the current GT-R, and is a minor but still appreciable improvement. I do hope there are side intakes being covered there--always thought the bumper needed side intakes to round out the look.

I'm staring at the rear and can't really see the difference though.

I hope there's some substance behind the very minor aesthetic mods, such as more power or, better yet, less weight. Gotta keep up with those improved Europeans; 911 turbo, MP4/12, R8GT, 458...

Only thing I see different in the rear are the rear exhaust tips in some pictures. But I agree, it looks better

        @Ektor,

I've heard rumors of 500-530 advertised hp. Which, being a GT-R means 530 on a 100-degree day with 100% humidity and about 550 on a nice day. =D

Not a lot of places to lose weight and keep with the current theme of no option boxes to check, always fully kitted out.
AWD? Satnav? A/C? They didn't even lose those on the SpecV, so I don't see them taking them off the premium-only standard GT-R.

I think you are being sarcastic, especially with the slow comment....

If Voltran had a car, it would be this.

I'm glad they are going to rework those front fascia side smooth gills.

Looked too wierd. Like as if it were unfinished.
