After Thursday's announcement that up to 4,400 buyers of the Chevrolet Volt will be eligible to get a free 240-volt home charging station, General Motors will hold a live webchat later today at 11 am EDT. The chargers will some from ECOtality and Coulomb Technologies, so it only makes sense to have ECOtality CEO Don Korner and Coulomb executive director Marc Carlson participate in the webchat, along with Volt vehicle line director Tony Posawatz.

Ecotality and Coulomb will be supplying the charging stations under a program funded by the U.S. Department of Energy; ECOtality will install 2,600 Volt chargers and Coulomb will put in 1,800. The DOE program is intended to get 15,000 home charging stations installed and also includes the recent announcement from Ford and Coulomb that will provide charging points for buyers of the Transit Connect Electric. Posawatz, Korner, and Carlson will answer questions about exactly how the program will work. Got a question for GM about the charging units? The chat window is available after the jump.
