2011 Hennessey Venom GT – Click above for high-res image gallery

Hennessey has already divulged practically every piece of information we want to know about its 2011 Venom GT supercar. It's built on a heavily molested Lotus Elise chassis and driven by one of three versions of the 6.2-liter LS9 V8 used in the Corvette ZR1. The base model is supercharged and produces 725 horsepower and 741 pound-feet of torque. The other two mills are both twin turbocharged and produce 1,000 hp and 1,200 hp, respectively. All three models use the same six-speed Ricardo transmission as the Ford GT. Weight: 2,548 lbs dry and 2,685 lbs loaded with fuel. Price: Somewhere north of $600,000 for the base supercharged model. Yeah, this is some serious stuff.

The Texas-based tuner (can we really call a company that builds something like this a tuner?) has finished the very first production Venom GT, and it's a duesy. Chassis Number 01 is a top tier twin-turbo model, the same one clocked producing 933 rwhp a few weeks ago on a dyno.

As if the numbers don't paint a pretty enough picture, Hennessey recently hired a photographer to snap some beauty shots of its Venom GT. The high-res image gallery below sports some 56 images, some of which are good, many of which could be better. May we offer up our own ace photog Drew Phillips? We're quite sure he'd be happy to snap a pictorial starring the new Venom GT.

SEALY, TEXAS & SILVERSTONE, ENGLAND, June 14, 2010 - Hennessey Performance is proud to announce the delivery of the company's first production-ready Venom GT supercar. Having left its UK production facility, the Chassis Number 01 Venom GT is headed to the UAE where it is to be delivered to its new owner by Hennessey's exclusive Middle East distributor, Al DiMora of DiMora Motorcar.

"This is the fulfillment of a dream that I have had since I was a kid", says company founder, John Hennessey. "But it is also just the beginning as we begin to demonstrate the performance capabilities of the Venom GT in the near future".

The top tier model, the first production Venom is powered by a twin turbocharged Chevrolet LS-series aluminum V8 producing 1,200 hp and 1,135 lb-ft torque mated to a 6-speed Ricardo manual transaxle (the same as found in the Ford GT). Boasting a dry weight of just 2,548 lbs and a curb weight of 2,685 lbs with a full tank of fuel, the car delivers on its promise of an astounding power-to-weight ratio.

Harnessing this power is a chassis that is a far cry from the Lotus Elise which it's derived. Aside from reusing the windshield, doors, roof, floor, dash and various trim components, the Venom GT's design and construction has been engineered from the ground up for a truly unique supercar. An all-new front and rear space frame and suspension is cloaked in a new carbon fiber body, sporting an adjustable rear wing for exceptional high-speed stability.

Production levels of the Venom GT range from the base 725 hp supercharged LS9 V8 unveiled in the original prototype car to 1,000 hp and 1,200 hp twin turbo V8 variants. Each vehicle is painted and its interior crafted to each owner's specification, offering the opportunity for one-off exclusivity.

Each Venom GT is built in Silverstone, England, with power plants sourced from HPE's Texas headquarters. Available in both left and right-hand drive configuration, the Venom GT is an international supercar fusing the power and emotion of American V8 muscle with the refinement of Britain's renowned racing heritage.

If Peugeot could find a way to put 2 seats in a 908 HDI and make it street legal wherever the Henny' is, then I would prefer that over this.

Something about custom subframes bolted to an Elise tub with 1000hp out back just flat out scares me. Plus if those turbos get hot enough I wouldn't be surprised if they melted that engine cover right off.

Looks neat though, way to tweak an Elise in unnatural yet appealing ways.

Who's the moron that took these photos? They are terrible. AutoBlog, get your hands on this car and let your photographer go wild. It makes Hennessey's brand seem cheap after seeing and comparing images from Ferrari, Porsche, and Honda. Come on dudes! What are you thinking. The images of a photographer hired to represent your trademark car and company should be spectacular. Not some half a**ed BS like that. I would be pissed.

Lotus is a "Chassis builder". Vauxhall, Saturn, Pontiac use their chassis. Why not Hennessey? It just shows what a "Fine Chassis" it is.

It doesn't look that it's built by blind people who have feet instead of hands like the SSC Ultimate Aero.

It actually looks perfectly and beautifully well put together. Magnificent job.

This didn't interest me initially. But now... well my interest, and something else, is definitely up.
What a horn bag of a car! It'll be a hard decision between this and the Marx Merc when I have the money together. *checks account again* Yay i'm up to $12.30 :D

Taking advantage of stupid people is wrong.

For 600k I expect a new chassis design not a stretch limo lotus frame with a huge motor.

He is just making this car so he can continue to ripoff unsuspecting ignorant people to support his habit. Anyone in their right mind with a clue about who this CROOK is would not buy anything from him, not even toilet paper.
