Four of Agent 007's Aston Martins

Before the original Aston Martin DB5 Bond-mobile goes on the auction block this Fall, it and three other Astons from the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s will get together for a party in the UK. The DBS, Vanquish, and V8 Vantage Volante from Quantum of Solace, Die Another Day and The Living Daylights will be on hand for the Midsummer Classic at the Stoke Park Club.

The Stoke Park Club is hardly new to Agent 007, having been a setting in at least two Bond flicks among other lesser known films. The absence of the original DBS from 1969's On Her Majesty's Secret Service and the V8 Vantage coupe from The Living Daylights means this isn't quite a complete set, but it's close enough. Now we just need to bring together the Lotus Esprits and assorted BMWs from the middle years of Bond for a more complete retrospective.

What is a Ford Mustang doing in this picture?

Just kidding. Still though, the V8 looks pretty similar to the muscle car

      No love for the Vanquish?

DB5 is classic. Classic Vantage is something unique, as well, and was much more of a burly GT car than the current versions of the Vantage name. DBS is part of the current-line A-M hotness.

The Vanquish seems kind of left out. Not new, but not yet classic, and the step between the revival-model DB7 that brought A-M back from the brink, and the current VH-cars that are some of the most popular and beautiful Astons ever.

Arguably more lithe and light weight than the DBS that replaced it... some would argue that the DBS is similar but doesn't quite "succeed" the Vanquish, and is more of a DB9 Sport Edition, where Vanquish was significantly different than the DB7, and the progenitor of the DB9/S, Vantage, and Rapide's VH modular chassis.

The new V12 Vantage is probably about the best idiom successor to the Vanquish. One-77 takes it to a new level beyond Vanquish.

I never liked the rear of the Vanquish or the DB7, for that matter. They ruined the cars. (exception: db7 zagato)

Somewhat unrelated, Bond's choice of vehicle in Fleming's books was actually often a Bentley. Would love to see a Continental Supersports show up in the next movie, but of course that won't happen due to sponsorship contracts with Aston Martin.

Hahaha the DB5 with the extendo bumpers and the tire slashers FTW

I think that and the DBS are the most beautiful of the four.

The V8 Vantage here looks too much like a mustang.
