Tim Hahne's video of the 2010 24 Hours of Nürburgring – Click above to watch video after the jump

Video guru Tim Hahne descended on this year's 24 Hours of Nürburgring with nothing but his trusty Canon 5d Mk II and a handful of lenses. The guy was there through the thick and the thin of the race – from the first drop of the green flag to the final fall of the checkers – and managed to nab a heady 19,500 frames of racing action for the world's enjoyment. It's all in delicious HD, dripping with the kind of glory we're unaccustomed to in motorsports videography.

We highly suggest you take the time (and bandwidth) to sit down and enjoy the high-def goodness for yourself. Between the awesome shots of the cars in action and the chaotic in-pit clips, the whole thing is not to be missed. Hit the jump to enjoy it for yourself.

A minute or so in and all I can say is that it's incredibly gorgeous and covers the essence of racing.

Egad, the big version, still in Flash video, linked to from vimeo, is 560MB.

Finally watched it: downloading the big version took almost an hour...
Gorgeous, but its almost all about the atmosphere around the 24 hours; I'd like to have seen more vehicles in motion on the track.

Man that Porsche at around 2:30 where the camera is behind the guard rail is absolutely awesome... This video is amazingly shot for sure!

Fantastic. The editing around late night/early morning shots is amazing - alternating between the blurred, skip-motion style and the stark, white-out lighting in the pits really brings home the feeling of encroaching fatigue.

And the BMW fire in the pits? It's like it was a flat tire... Clean it up and send it out. Amazing.
