Tribute 2010 Chevrolet Camaro – Click above for high-res image gallery

It's easy to forget that while we spend day-in and day-out banging on QWERTYs and chasing our tails as automotive rumors get confirmed, then denied, then confirmed again, that there are men and women all over the world working to keep us safe and protect our families and our way of life. It's Memorial Day, so regardless of where you stand in the political spectrum, it's worth taking some time out of your day to say thanks to the service men and women in your life.

We're fortunate enough to live in a country where military service isn't mandatory, and we all owe a debt to the souls that that have volunteered to serve in our nation's armed forces. So take some time between your burgers and beers to pay your respects those that have fallen in the line of duty and honor those that are serving right now.

Thank you for the tribute. I am a service member stationed in Afghanistan and with no magazine racks w/ car mags, and no commercials on TV, I rely on AUTOBLOG to know what is going on in the auto industry and help choose my next dream car. It is the fist site I check when I can get on the internet (and one of the highlights of my day.) Keep up the fantastic work! (Only request is more coverage of Cars and Coffee/Supercar Sunday. I'm stationed in Ventura, and the day before I deployed, I drug my family off to Supercar Sunday for one last car-fix before heading out.)

Thank you to all who are fighting for giving us the freedom we love so much. Especially the freedom to drive 600hp cars as daily drivers if we want ;)

Happy Memorial Day, and thanks to all U.S.-millitary personnel for your service!

      Awesome looking Camaro.

Thank you military personnel, I'd still appreciate you putting the guns down, but I can't deny your good intentions.

Jason: I'm pro military... but the thing I'm not sure I agree with is the reasons that we're currently having people go all over the sandbox and die.

Have a nice Memorial Day everyone. :D

I thought Memorial Day was about the people who have died. We shouldn't be wishing each other a "happy" day as this should be a time of reflection on those we have lost.

If you want to support those who served in the military and survived, I believe there is a different day for that called "Veterans Day".

        Autblog's comment system sucks.

Disregard that last comment(rant). It was meant for someone else entirely.

They would rather have their life celebrated rather than their death mourned

Again.. I support individual soldiers, but I do not trust the rich, old, white men in charge who declare that our young guys need to fly all over the place and fight and die. There's a huge difference between supporting the troops, and supporting the BS reasons that places them in harms way.

I'm pretty sure the people wishing each other happy Memorial Day aren't doing anything wrong by celebrating, aren't you happy there are people in the army sacrificing to protect your way of life? That would make me happy, and I would wish to pass that on to others, as thanks for what the soldiers did. I'm pretty sure the brave men and women who sacrificed their lives didn't do so that we might sit in a corner and mope, I would imagine they would want us to enjoy every bit of freedom their efforts allowed us to have.

Toasting you a big happy Memorial Day from my phone, sitting in my lawn chair in my uncle's backyard while the family prepares a big barbecue. Wish I could have a patriotic car to be proud of this day...(only a 02 Focus). Alas I'll remedy that with a couple beers, ribs, and staring lustfully at my uncle's brand new white Camaro SS in the driveway.

Many thanks to all the people who helped make America what it is today.
