2011 BMW M5 – Click above for high-res image gallery

Another month, another round of 2011 BMW M5 spy shots. It never fails. But this latest smattering of pics shows off even more of the Bavarian luxo-bomber's exterior, including its shapely, M3-inspired fascia, bulging hood and camo-covered (and trademarked) fender vents aft of the front wheels.

Naturally, the rest is comprised of standard 5 Series bits, but those massive, drilled rotors and 10-spoke BBS wheels speak to the heart of the matter. And speaking of the heart – if you weren't already aware – expect the all-new M5 to be packing upwards of 560 horsepower and 530 pound-feet of torque from its twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V8. With the recent onslaught of photos, the next M5 is right around the bend, and we should get our first glimpse within the next few months.

i can get excited for any performance car regardless of where it is made. and just as a note, i've seen more "special edition" mustang posts on this site than any other over the last 2 years.

You guys are comparing a Cadillac CTSV to this engineering masterpiece ?

Lets be honest, have you ever compared the two in person side by side. I love American muscle but the current and the new up coming M5 is a league of its own.

I hope they can improve on the looks....I dont really like how the new 5 series look.

        @ Auto Design.

BMWs are ugly. Look at the new Z4...the X6...X5 M..5GT...5 Series...7 series. They are all ugly IMO. The new 7 already looks dated and in some areas looks just like the Lexus LS460 ( I think the Lexus looks better then the 7 ).

BMWs are getting very ugly....the other day I was driving with my older sis and we saw both a X6 and Z4 and she said both look weird and didn't belong. She said the X6 looks like it wasn't meant to be a car lol and this is coming from someone who loves BMW.

The only decent looking BMW is the 3 series....and everything else in its class looks better. G37, A5 etc all look better.

I eye older BMW's more then the new ones.

Well we must be on different pages then. The LS to me has looked dated since day 1, and like every Lexus each piece of the car looks like it has been designed independently and then slapped on at the end. Now I can understand not liking the X6, but the new Z4 is an incredible work of art. The chassis may be a bit of a let down but I truly believe it's the most beautiful car to hit the streets in the last few years.

Don't know which new BMWs you two are looking at. The newest sedans have incredible presence ( I'd argue that the 5GT does as well, but I know that 90% of people disagree) . The new 7 has amazing proportions in person, especially in the rear 3/4. The high shoulder line makes it look sporty even though it's such a large car, and it also makes the new flat sided A8 look like an entry model. I've always been a fan of Audi, but BMW's current design language is leaving everyone else in the dust.

Hopefully bmw can hire new designers because I don't like how any of their cars look

"to be packing upwards of 560 horsepower and 530 pound-feet of torque from its twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V8."

YUM! Pity it won't sound anything like the current V10 though :/. Oh well, there are tons floating around anywho, so it's not like the chorus is going to end any time soon :D

It is looking good, digging those rims. Are people really writing that the caddy is better? I smell GM writers.

        I smell a BMW fanboy

Personally I would definitely go with the Caddy, no question.
Do you like the "rim," or the entire wheel?
Sorry, I am not 60, i will Stick with VW and BMW. Plus selling parts and service when I was younger, I would never own a GM car after that.
Am I mistaken or does the hood bulge take up almost the entire hood? :O

There's no way a 5 series is going to go back to the good ol' days. There was a time for it for sure but it's probably impossible today. Still, I love what BMW has been able to do given those limits (safety, comfort features, etc.).
