Brabus T65 RS Vanish – Click above for high-res image gallery

Before Brabus turned its T65 RS Vanish over to its rightful owner, it took the car to Glamor Shots for a round under the lights and here are the results. The former Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG Black Series is now a twin-turbo, 800-horsepower brute with 811 pound-feet of electronically limited peak torque – the engine's uncorked potential is 1,047 pound-feet. About the only other limit the Vanish has is top speed: it's capable of 206 miles per hour, but is limited to "only" 200.

Your own SL65 AMG Black Series probably won't go that fast right now, but Brabus has good news: everything on the Vanish can be ordered up for your car. Except that "One-off" plaque, of course. Have a look at the Brabus press release after the jump, and at the Vanish from all angles in the gallery of high-res photos below.

BRABUS T65 RS Tuning for the SL 65 AMG Black Series
With 800 hp / 588 kW, a Top Speed of More Than 330 km/h and a Highly Exclusive Interior

Is it possible to make the most powerful production Mercedes of all time, the SL 65 AMG Black Series, even more powerful, faster, more spectacular and exclusive? BRABUS can! Equipped with T65 RS tuning the high-performance model delivers even more power and becomes even more elite. T65 RS tuning bumps power output to 800 hp (788 bhp) / 588 kW. With it the two-seater accelerates from rest to 200 km/h (124 mph) in just 9.8 seconds and reaches a top speed of more than 330 km/h (206 mph). In the upholstery shop at BRABUS (Brabus-Allee, D-46240 Bottrop, phone + 49 / (0) 2041 / 777-0, fax + 49 / (0) 2041 / 777 111, Internet www.brabus.com) the interior can be clad in a sporty yet elegant combination of the finest leather and Alcantara, giving it an even more striking ambiance. Further BRABUS options are special paintjobs such as the matte black shown here or the customization to customers' individual specifications that'll make it a true BRABUS one-off with custom-designed personalized logos on the illuminated scuff plates and the speedometer.

BRABUS T65 RS tuning unleashes the inherent power reserves of the Black Series engine. It includes the BRABUS high-tech twin turbo system that includes two special exhaust manifolds with integrated turbine housings and high-performance turbochargers. Four generously dimensioned intercoolers are placed beneath the space created by the BRABUS carbon-fiber hood scoop. The special BRABUS stainless-steel high-performance exhaust system with free-flow metal catalysts was specifically designed for the Black Series power upgrade.

Newly programmed engine electronics with special mapping for injection and ignition coordinate the perfect interaction of all high-performance components and at the same time ensure that the engine meets strict EURO IV emission limits. The high-tech lubricants for the entire powertrain are supplied by technology partner ARAL.

The T65 RS engine delivers 800 hp (788 bhp) / 588 kW at 5,500 rpm and an even more impressive peak torque of 1,420 Nm (1,047 lb-ft), available already at a low 2,100 rpm. Peak torque is limited electronically to 1,100 Nm (811 lb-ft).

Powered by this engine, the Black Series coupe delivers truly superlative performance: From rest the sports car, weighing in at a mere 1,795 kilograms (3,957 lbs.) sprints to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.6 seconds, and reaches 200 km/h (124 mph) after just 9.8 seconds. The car could reach a top speed of more than 330 km/h (206 mph) but for tire safety reasons top speed is limited electronically to 320 km/h (200 mph).

The BRABUS upholstery shop creates a special sporty and luxurious interior to customers' exact specifications, down to the last detail. The power comfort seats offer excellent lateral support without constricting the occupants. In this true BRABUS one-off car, made to the specifications of a longtime customer, they are upholstered in an exclusive combination of especially soft and breathable black leather and Alcantara. The same materials are found on door panels, headliner and dashboard. Precision-sewn red seams add striking highlights to all interior elements.

Stainless-steel scuff plates with illuminated logo and the speedometer that sports the car's name were also custom-made for this car's owner.

All components are available for any Mercedes SL 65 AMG Black Series.

I like how they went with the all black theme but didn't black out the headlight housings? Especially with a name like Vanish.

Looks evil, but I wonder if it would stay on the road when you hit the gas hard.

Im sure this thing can do 220mph give or take some.

seriously? I wish Brabus would just VANISH!!!!!

Why aren't they making all those tuned AMG cars all wheel drive?

Rear wheels will never handle this much peak power and this much low end power coming this early without tons of spoilers pushing the car down at high speeds and an engine in the middle/back pushing the car down all the time.

Especially the cornering will fail. Weight transfer to the outer wheel makes it the only one usable for transferring the force. Do I need to explain more? How can a single tire do anything usable with 600+ horses trying to make their way down to the tarmac.

And now imagine the same thing in the wet, on a not-that-grippy surface. Useless. The traction control, which actually should be commonly called power LIMITER, will cut this car balls in their entirety.

With a decent, permanent all wheel drive with significant rear bias these AMG overpowered cars would likely be Veyron killers. Actually, they'd be "everything killers". How is it possible that AMG engineers haven't figured this simple fact yet? Unlike BMW, Mercedes don"t have to support any purist point of view, they just have to make usable all rounder with power and comfort. All wheel drive would fit the picture perfectly.

You sir are no fun... Rwd is the only way to go

        > Owners of cars like this don't care about silly stuff like traction
        > and cornering.. they want bragging rights of "I have XXX amount
        > of power ha ha ha..!".

        Point taken.

Well, maybe some crazy tuner will take the Brabus T65 RS Vanish motor and plop it into a Nissan GTR. Or the reverse, put the Nissan GTR awd system into this Brabus.

Heck, I nominate EngineersView to do the project. Please post pics and review to autoblog please. :)

You dont get understeer with RWD
Owners of cars like this don't care about silly stuff like traction and cornering.. they want bragging rights of "I have XXX amount of power ha ha ha..!". As long as people are willing to pay Brabus will create horse power monsters like this.

Would rather have an unmodified original.

So where did the pics and details go? Seems you found them!

I normally don't like this car.. just something about the looks of it just rubbed me the wrong way. Now that it has a widebody style to it I really like it the flat black look on this car just looks mean as hell!
my thoughts exactly. modern merc styling in general was never something I was a fan of. but that paint and those wheels make it work.

You can take any RWD transmission from GM (200-4R, 700-R4, TH350, TH400, 4L60E, 4L80E, etc.) or Ford (AOD, E4OD, 4R70, 4R100, etc.) from the last 30yrs and make it handle 800hp no problem, why is Mercedes unable to do this? A 1000hp engine limited to 800hp is an 800hp engine. You can bet they charge like it's a 1000hp one.

Love the styling cues from the CTS-V.
