The Conan O'Brien SHO – Click above to watch the video after the jump

If you thought Jay Leno was the only late-night talk show host who was into cars, think again. Sure, Jay's got the garage full of priceless automobiles and regularly contributes to Octane magazine, but Letterman is part owner of an Indy racing team, and Conan's had his share of four-wheeled shenanigans.

If the Bugatti Veyron mouse shtick wasn't enough to convince you, have a look at the video after the jump. On a segment of the CBS news program 60 Minutes, Conan takes his interviewer around Los Angeles in a dirt-green 1992 Ford Taurus SHO. Check it out; it's worth a laugh of two.

He may not be a certified car nut guy like Leno but he sure does love that S.H.O.
I used to think Leno was petrol head, but I think hes just a guy with money who likes cars in in the way that a person likes antiques. In the episodes I've seen of Jay Leno's garage he doesn't really seem to know what hes talking about. He talks about the mindless features of the cars. And he's also not a very good driver. Whenever he was in top gear he was way down in the star in an reasonably priced car. Or maybe I'm just jealous and talking out of my ass............................

i totally agree with this guy ^^

Ahhh, the Cone Bone lives :)

I can't wait to see him on TBS.

I saw Conan on 60 minutes last night.

I used to like him, but he just seemed whiny and low class, after getting 40 Million $$ to walk away and still going on and on about it. Cry me a river.

Get to the pinnacle of your career path, something you worked your entire career to get to, and then get fired for essentially no reason. Severance package or not, you'd be butt-hurt too.
        I completely agree.

Now don't get me wrong, I like Conan (and in fact I've seen him live in NYC twice), but I wasn't too pleased with the interview.

He put WAY too much blame on Leno for this disaster. Conan portrays Leno as this evil, greedy guy when in reality he seems to be a very down to earth, nice guy (I've seen Leno live at the Tonight Show and doing stand up).

While I can understand Conan's anger, blaming Leno the way he is is just outright childish. He needs to realize that, in the end, business is business, and it's just something you have to deal with when you're in that position.
Well considering he had a ban on him giving interviews legally he wasn't going on about it, others were. This again was his FIRST interview since the ban had lifted. Him being whiney are you kidding in that interview he had to (in my opinion) bite his lip in all the responce's due to the stipulations in his release (can't deface NBC/Leno).

Oh and did you know the tour he went on he pretty much rehired his entire staff so they could have jobs durring the summer? And in his contract release he had stipulations that ensured his staff was taken car of also?

He's a stand up guy pure and simple for those two reason's alone.
That's because its not about the money for him. He always dreamed of being the host of the tonight show. And he had it and it was taken away from him from the same guy who promised it to him.

Also he didn't get all 40 million, he used a good chunk of that money to help pay his staff when they were let go too.
Also, I do wish Conan the best of luck on TBS and I'll be DVRing and watching all of his episodes as I have in the past years.
He bargained for $40 million so at least a quarter of it goes to his entire crew who will be out of work until November. And that national tour he is doing? Yeah, he isn't getting a penny. He is only doing it so his crew has a paycheck until November as well.

I wouldn't call that whiney or low class.
I love when he features his Taurus in interviews or skits.
I watched 60 Mins last night, he didn't show the car. This must be an internet extra?

Conan seemed pretty reasonable, he did get $25M after all.

I don't get how he can say it's impossible the show lost money under him. I'm not saying it did, but he wouldn't know the financials of the show outside of actually those of actually producing the show and those aren't the whole story. On the other hand, NBC didn't deal squarely with him or Jay so I wouldn't put it past them to lie about the financials.
I thought about that too, but a guy like him who has been in this business - I just have to give him the benefit of the doubt that he did know the financials, or enough about them. No he wasn't beating Letterman, but it seems NBC is implying that the show has to be number one in its time spot in order for it to prosper which is ludicrous.
He may not know the exact details but I'm sure his producers did. A show like the Tonight Show is for all intents and purpose's cheap to make compared to other hour long shows like Law and Order . Sure NBC can claim it lost money in the long haul since it did make Conan's Tonight Show Studio, but I have a feeling that was their own doing rather than Conan demanding a new studio.

The only ones who did lose money where the affiliates since to them their main complaint was that Leno's show wasnt strong enough of a lead in for their 11 o'clock news and in turn still not strong enough to lead into The Tonight Show. The affiliates get money via advertising primarily local advertisers.

His producers wouldn't know the transmission costs of the show (end to end), the ad revenues (or even prices), especially from the affiliates. They only would know the cost of the show and what NBC is paying them for it.

What I said about the 60 minutes interview over on TMZ pretty sums up how i feel about Conan at this point... (cool bonus clip about his SHO BTW!)

I kind of felt sorry for O'Brien when it all went down but you know what? The more he bitches about it the more I can't help but see him for the hypocritical backstabbing jerk he is. I really hope the scars that NBC left on his psyche run deep and trouble him for years to come. He deserves it. Six years ago during contract negotiations he had no qualms about pushing Jay out of his spot on the Tonight Show... and now he's doing exactlt the same thing to George Lopez that he's upset with Jay and NBC doing to him. Unbelieveable! Anyone who believes that Lopez was on board with Conan bumping him back an hour to 12 AM AND cool with Conan getting first shot at developing a new show for the 12 AM slot if Lopez fails, com'on give me a f'n break your a delusional COCO fanatic. TBS and Conan jacked his butt up against a wall and told him this is how it's going to be and Lopez didn't have any recourse with his contract like Conan did. He had no choice but to take it with a smile even though it was a bitter pill for him to swallow. The poor guy, not only did he get bent over and f_cked by TBS & Conan... but the jerks made him go out and tell everybody how much he liked it too!

"George Lopez Not a Conan Fan - Fellow late night host's welcome to O'Brien an act : Posted Apr 19, 2010 Newser.com

(Newser) – Watch out, Conan: George Lopez doesn’t like you any more than you like Jay Leno. Lopez’s “the lady doth protest too much” moment of overexcited glee at O’Brien’s arrival on TBS was all an act, sources tell the New York Post. Unsurprisingly, Lopez didn’t actually want his show to be pushed back an hour for Conan’s sake—but “he was told that if he wasn't supportive, his show would not be renewed,” says a source.

Adding to the animosity: “Conan's contract states that if Lopez's show is canceled, then Conan will be able to develop a show for the midnight hour, as well,” the source says. “It's in Conan's best interest for Lopez's show to fail.” Reps for TBS and Lopez deny the report, of course."

I smell what you're stepping in, but I didn't even know George Lopez had a show.

      SHO's are nice.

There's a reason he lost the gig.

Conan just isn't funny. Fart jokes, hysteria and Jim Carrey faces just don't make people laugh.

        Makes me laugh.
But I guess I'm not "people"

I bet Leno doesn't have a '92 Taurus SHO in his garage

      I wish I did...
