2011 Audi A8 L W12 – Click above for high-res image gallery

Measuring approximately 17.5 feet long, the 2011 Audi A8 L W12 is certainly quite grandioso. And while the 500-horsepower 12-cylinder engine and new eight-speed automatic transmission are certainly nothing to sneeze at, what's most impressive about the long-wheelbase A8 is the rear seat accommodations. Holy mackerel.

You want gobs of leather, a full-length center console, heated and cooled seats that massage you as well as a folding ottoman for premium comfort? You got it. The A8 L's 122.9-inch wheelbase means there's tons of legroom (duh), and we're seriously eager to get some R&R time in the back of this luxury barge. See for yourself in the galleries below.

Despite being so INNNORMOUS it still manages to look dignified, unlike the Maybach...

Meh, it's barely longer than an 80s vintage LWB S-class (which I have.. and LOVE the room!!)

What a hideous car. The old A8 wasn't too difficult to look at but this one is just disgusting.

Why don't BMW and Audi just give up with the 7series and A8, they will never ever reach S-Class status. Its just not physically possible to outdo a legend.

They should just concentrate on doing what they do best, Audi with their AWD and BMW with their compact saloons.

The grill needs to go back to the 2 piece design that
Audi had 2 generations ago. With that change, this
      car would look awesome.

In fact, Audi needs to get rid of this large grill on all of
their cars. I hate this design.

And...when you put the number plate in the grill, the car
      really looks ugly.

If I bought a car in this class I want it to stand out like the S, 7, and XJ does. It looks exactly like an A4. Even the current A6 looks more distinguished.

why do chinese need longer cars?

The car looks hideous in picture and on the booth, but I just saw 2 black ones rolling past by out on the streets in Beijing, they look great in traffic!

You're not gonna care how it looks when you're sitting in it. Seriously, the back thing in this makes a Maybach look sparse.

I don`t believe the guy who designed the Alpha Romeo 8C or the A5 could let anything ugly come out of the design studio.

I think the A8 is going to look stunning in the presence, all audis are.

I'll take the new Jaguar XJL SuperSport over this in a heartbeat.
Better looking, more HP, MUCH better interior, better MPG and less expensive too.

Even females would say this is too long...
