Put your skepticism aside, Top Gear fans. This is no drill. The History Channel will air the first ten episodes of an American version of everyone's favorite car show this Fall. As you may recall, NBC took the first crack at producing a colonized version of TG, complete with hosts Tanner Foust, Adam Carolla and Eric Stromer. For whatever reason, the project went to the dumpster, and we haven't heard word one until now.
It looks like Tanner Foust is still on board for The History Channel's take on Top Gear America, but the two other hosts have been swapped for different talent. Foust will share the stage with Adam Ferrara – probably one of the funniest comedians working these days (seriously, hit the YouTubes) – and Rutledge Wood. Wood's name will likely ring a bell with the NASCAR set. The guy's been reporting on turning left since before they realized they were going in circles.

Can The History Channel give the guys the space they need to do the Top Gear name justice? We hope so. For once, the talent appears to be there, and getting out from under piercing glare of NBC's lawyers is bound to be a good thing too. Suddenly, we can't wait for Fall to roll around.

Woot for TGA, hopefully History Channel can make a good show of it. Kind of dissapointed that the Aceman won't be part of it though. I think he would have made a good presenter.

I'm guessing Carolla saw this for the epic flop it's gonna be and ran the other way, fast. ;)

I think someone called the wrong "Adam Comedian Guy"

Ace would have been perfect, his podcast CarCast is awesome
and maybe if his show got picked up then he is not available
to do the American Top Gear? Whatever happened I agree that
the Aceman would have been perfect, he's so entertaining and
is really into cars.... he collects and races!

hopefully they can feature Adam on an episode
if they do stuff like that.... how could they ignore the
big car guy actors like Jay and Adam.....

Aceman said on his CarCast with Tanner Foust that he can't do it because he has some commitment with NBC.

I'm scared. I'm not gonna like it, and then I'm going to feel crushed.. but I feel like there's no way I'm going to like it for some reason.

      Get Matt Farrah in there

I've only seen Foust for about 3 minutes on "Supercars" before he put me to sleep.
I've only seen Wood on SPEED during ALMS races doing promos for whatever show he's on, "look-at-me-I'm-edgy" pretty much describes this load of no talent "Gee I wish I was Kevin Smith" wannabe. His spots make me turn the channel. Couldn't watch him for an hour.
Ferrara, sorry buddy, never heard of you. He might be a reason to watch, but the other two are not. Two no's, and a maybe? I'll watch the original, thanks for trying Discovery.

Talk about kicking a dead horse. Quit while you're behind! The original Top Gear is still the best and this show will never in a million years be anywhere near as good.

I feel like I'd be cheating on Jeremy, Richard, and James if I watched this version. I know my expectations are going to be too high, I'm going to keep comparing it to the UK version, and I'm going to end up not liking it. Hopefully not though.

      Oops, I mean History.

A wild, frothing Carolla wouldve been worth tuning in for too.....dammit.....

      My thoughts...

Tanner Foust = He's a tool, and not very entertaining.
Adam Carolla = Can't take anything he does or says seriously
      Eric Stromer = Who?

In conclusion... I think that they should just start showing BBC 2's "OG" Top Gear on basic cable.

Why the hell is this on the History Channel? I could see Victory by Design, but not this. Of course I guess this has as much to do with history as any of their programming these days.

Because TLC blows anymore. Someone had to pick up the slack with some manly programming. Whatever happened to TLC, they used to have so many good shows?

Wonder what happened to Adam Carollla? I thought he would have been an awesome host.

With USF1 plowing into the wall, I guess there are a few "Yankee Stig" candidates floating around.
