2011 Audi RS5 – Click above for high-res image gallery

Good news, Quattroheads: Audi has just unloaded a boatload of new images of the RS5 coupe in red, white and blue doing its thing all over some beautiful roads in Europe. We feel the need to point out where these shots were snapped simply because the German automaker has not yet announced any plans to bring its ubercoupe Stateside. And we therefore shed a tear.

Then again, maybe there's hope after all – we have heard rumors that Audi was at least considering blessing us Americans with the RS5... though nothing substantiated by any other reliable sources. In any case, it's always a good time to gaze upon 4.2 wonderful liters of naturally aspirated goodness with 450 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque sent to all four wheels, right? Right. So go ahead and click through the high-res image gallery below.

I have to say I thought the S5 was underpowered at 354. I liked the design from day 1, best looking Audi out there and finally a break from boring 4 door sedans, but if you ever get the chance to drive this beast you will not think it underpowered 1 bit. that 354 motivates this heavy car like you would not think, and the AWD and 19's for shoes make this car come alive in the corners and feel much much more nimble then the numbers make it look. I meet a race car driver over the weekend who was very unimpressed with this car until he drove it and walked away quite surprised.

I threw her into a very tight corner on a test drive that had no business at 70 MPH and she held onto that corner like a fat kid with a cupcake- and i think I made the sales guy drop a cupcake.

This car will rock, all she needs is a louder exhaust and she will surprise many supercars for sure.

No words can describe how magnificent this car looks!!

        @REV
You're truly one in a million. But hey, it's those little differences that makes the world such an interesting place.

And I thought the S5 was one of the best looking Audis in ages... this one is ridiculously epic. It's not your "look-at-me-im-rich" lambo or your "look-at-me-im-ugly-with-a-bangle-butt" M5 either and I must say, thank god it isnt.

At least the pics don't have a driver in the car. They look so itsy bitsy in these barges.

It still looks like a glorified Honda Accord and a glorified Scion TC had an overweight baby. Then they tried to make the overweight baby look like Every Other Audi. And they succeeded. From the side especially: Japanese coupe. But larger/heavier. And less sporty.

I must say, red is the most awkward color for Audis. They don't look sporty or sexy, no matter what color you paint it... Funny, you paint a BMW red and it looks like it's ready to eat the road, you paint an Audi red and it's, "what were you thinking, secretary?"

"I’m going to say something a little controversial, but I was a touch disappointed with this car. It’s nothing like as characterful as the last RS4, and for all its technical brilliance it lacks roll-on performance – ironically just the type that the turbocharged S4 offers. It’s a fine car, but a long way from perfect."

meh. It's too tall. Belt line is too high. Fat.
Is it just me or are some of the Hi Res pics in negative color? Maybe my Mac doesn't love the RS5 as much as I do...

And if it comes to the U.S. it'll likely come to Canada too!

This car is perfect, right up there with the first Quattro sport

Yum yum yum. RS Audis rock.

I think continuing the term 'self-locking' to the new center differential isn't appropriate.
The side gear separation thrust should be no more than a conventional differential.

It's rather pretty, but I don't like the spoiler. Looks out of place, as the TT-RS's does.
