2009 Concorso Italiano - Click above for high-res image gallery

There's something special about seeing a supercar in person, and it's a once in a lifetime event to see several in the same place. It's for that reason we're big fans of supercar reunions. Last year, as part of the Monterey Classic Car Week festivities, Concorso Italiano hosted a Ferrari 288 GTO reunion as part of the car's 25th anniversary, and an incredible fifteen examples showed up, making it the largest gathering ever.

Concorso plans to outdo itself this year with another Ferrari reunion, this time with the F40. More than a dozen owners have already signed on to bring their cars, and we fully expect plenty more to be on hand come August 13th. In fact, the event organizers hope to have more than 40 examples in attendance. The F40's project director, Leonardo Fioravanti, is also scheduled to make an appearance.

If you're a big fan of the F40 or even just Italian supercars in general, then start making your plans to be in Monterey in a little over four months. Until then, take a look at what you missed out on last year in the galleries below.

Agreed, but have you ever been to Ferrari dealership? ;)

Unless, of course, you don't regard the factory Ferrari cars as supercars. Nice pictures, thank you for sharing.

I got an opportunity to go for a ride in one of these back in 2003/04, and they are a phenomenal car; I know the phrase 'a race car with number plates' is a term used a lot but that describes this car to a tee; I've never been in anything so raw before or since.

Anyway, all I need to do is win lotto, buy that house that was on here the other day and I'll be with my F40!

I just love the F40, that and the 288 GTO are in my opinion two of the greatest cars Ferrari built during the 1980's- 1990's. I 've always admired the F40, as it just a barely streetable race car, that epitomizes what Ferrari is really about(competion cars first, production cars second).

The only imperfect element of its design is the way that the NACA ducts on the side don't line up. Wouldn't that be amazing if ferrari caught the "retro bug?" Modern crisp details with proportions of its classics. Not that I can complain about the new ones, although I can't say i really like the headlights on the 458 italia or the all the busy lines on the 599.

As for the title pic, lol the guy in the upper right corner must be thinking "wow what a nice car...too bad i can't fit in it thanks to my giant beer belly."

Best sports car ever. The day in 5th grade study hall I opened to a glossy two page spread and saw this work of art changed my life forever.

To tell the truth, I prefer the 288 GTO. That thing is a brute.
