The A-Team van shines in New York – Click above for high-res image gallery

Are these the ultimate performance cars? Maybe not in 0-60 or quarter mile times – although we wouldn't count a few of them out at the dragstrip – but in terms of actually being performers. Some of the random cars and trucks we found at this year's New York Auto Show are perhaps just as famous as their on-screen co-stars of the human variety.

While the A-Team van parked right smack dab in the middle of the entryway was an easy target, we delved a little deeper and found a Mach 5, K.I.T.T., Batmobile, Monkeemobile, and Grandpa Munster's Dragula sitting in a booth in the lower level of the Javits Center. Oh, and your eyes aren't deceiving you...that is the VW Beetle from Uncle Buck that was on eBay last year...just in time for Easter. After the star car turnout at Chicago, this was a nice encore.

Herbie was my idol. All the other famous cars KA, but none put on a show like Herbie.

A few of these are really bad reproductions. The Batmobile was never shiny - it was flat black - kind-of like the radar-evading paint you see on stealth fighters. KITT wasn't even close - especially the interior, and the A-Team van, well, that's already been discussed.

I've been to shows before where they had a 'General Lee' that was the wrong year Charger, too. I'd think that, for a show as big as New York, they'd find DECENT replicas, if not some actual cars used in production.

Ah, is that where they are keeping it still? Well they should have hauled it over for the car show! lol

That KITT wasn't exactly the epitome of accurate. The front nose was a knock off, and the dash looked much more fake than necessary. The busted pop-up, knock off red scanner, and the exposed turn signals were kind of cheap.

I don't remember that many lights, tow hooks, winch, and all that on the A-team van, either.

I agree. that was the WORST KITT knock off i ever seen.

The van is a big knock off. The OG A Team van was gray above the red stripe and black below.

what is the point of this? Actual movie/tv cars are fine but knock-off/wannabes at the NYC Auto Show? Are there no standards left in the world?
