Gran Turismo 5 "Nights" trailer – Click above to watch video after the jump

Perhaps Polyphony Digital should just go into the commercial rendering business. Gran Turismo 5 remains stuck behind a palisade of silence, but new trailers for the game are thrown over the barriers to the salivating hordes every couple of weeks.

A few days ago, Polyphony laid out a NASCAR feast, while this latest, called "Nights," is a potluck dinner with regular gameplay, sports car racing, pit stops, NASCAR, night racing and damage scenes. Plus, a lot of the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG. And music from Ibiza. Follow the jump to sample the newest dish.

wow that looks lame.... seriously??? all these years in making and this is what they have to show for it?

Do they hate their fans so much or are they completely clueless...

"is it ever coming out? "

I heard rumors that GT5 is actually designed for PS5.

      I still see no crumplezones...

It would be very wrong to call it a night trailer. The course in the night is Special Stage 5 I think. It has always been in night since the first GT game came out.

I guess with GT5 your supposed to watch the game instead of play it or atleast thats the way they make me feel with all the trailers and not even a release date.

      a few points:
      1. this better be the bast game ever or a lot of people will be pissed
      2. by the time it comes out, i will have bought a 360 and Forza 8
      3. WHY ISN"T IT OUT YET?!!??
*Sigh* It looks fantastic but I just wish Sony/Polyphony would bloody release it already!

On the bright side, at least it should be absolutely flawless and have some cool touches, unlike Forza 3 (which I own). Turn 10 really messed up on that one - it was rushed to the market with far too many glitches and a truly AWFUL multiplayer mode.

Man, as long as I've been waiting for GT5 the game play better look as good as everything I'm seeing in this trailer.

All these retarded Forza fanboys make the implicit argument that somehow more sequels = better game. Yes FM1 destroyed GT4, but every succeeding Forza game has been a marginal upgrade at best. The graphics have largely remained unchanged save for cockpit view (jaggies 'n all), they still reuse the same flawed raw models from FM1 for the carried over cars, the physics engine still leaves something to be desired, and the modding hasn't changed, aside from adding additional modding variables (but not much depth).

Keep dropping your money on those marginal sequels, Microsoft is laughing all the way to the bank.

We ALL know in our hearts that GT5 would have been released already if:

      1. They decided to add Nascar, WRC, F1 as DLC components (ideally for free) later on

      2. Kaz didn't admittedly curse the entire project by claiming to be able to install damage modeling with a simple patch....."Kaz do you believe the Earth was created in 7 days ?"

Now as much as I wanted damage modeling I'd be willing to forgo it to get the game released or even accept a type of 'place-holder' damage modeling to be enhanced later on with a true physics based / true deformation type of damage modeling. I wonder however, how they'll deal with parts left on track from crashes ? With they affect other cars ? What about liquid spills ? What about fire damage ? Man you guys bit off soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much more than you could ever chew with a decade or more of development.......damage modeling in a patch.....oh CRIPES !
