EVO tackles the Lexus LFA on public roads – Click above to watch video after the jump

Sure, we've already had the chance to flog the new Lexus LFA on the track, but we haven't had the opportunity to spend time with Lexus's new supercar on public roads. The folks at EVO have that covered, though, and as we would imagine, the LFA is quite a different machine when it isn't being driven at ten-tenths.

So, what does EVO think of the Lexus LFA in an everyday driving environment? Hit the jump to watch the video and find out.

Some people just dont get it.

True car enthusiasts should just take in this fantastic automobile for what it is. The most technologically advanced high performance luxury grand tourer that the Toyota motor company has ever built. A FR, full carbon fiber GT, bespoke space age V10 drivetrain with full Lexus luxury. It is a showcase of what the Toyota motor company can design, engineer and build.

It is not meant to be in competition with any automobile. That is what the Camrys and the Corollas are for. Sure, other "cars" are faster, subjectively prettier and cheaper but if you make those arguments then you fail to see the point of the LFA.

The car aficionados who can truly afford and appreciate this marvelous piece of automotive engineering are scrambling to have a chance to purchase or "lease" the LFA. They dont "cross shop", worry of any price point or performance comparisons. They know what the LFA represents, what it can do, the engineering involved and appreciate it as such.

An automobile for the ages. I hope to see and hear one in my lifetime.

      Marvelous.

You could buy a nice home with the depreciation on the first year alone. I would buy a Ferrari 599 and never look back.

Your idiotic comment indicates that you'll never own either. This car will not depreciate... ever. Enjoy your cracked out looking Ferrari that you'll never own!

One of the best cars ever made. One of two badas* sound track. ( CGT and LFA)
@ BigDumbFace , you forgot to add , the rich guy must also be blind and have no idea about cars.
        love for the CGT!!!
CGT sounds unrivaled in person, i've never heard a v10 as fierce or menacing so far away. I'm looking forward to hearing this in person, this video does the soundtrack no justice.

Ohh I love that noise ... beeping at the rev-limiter.
I think the beep is to tell you to upshift, before you are on the redline, let alone the 9500 limiter.

Still one has to think about the price. An LP670-SV, a 599, maybe a CCX? I'm sorry I'm not paying for a car that looks like a Celica with a bad body kit that's slower than cars a fraction of it's price. One of the best engine notes ever though.

      that sound is beautiful!

When 'they' say that Lexus will only build 500 of them - is that IT? As in forever? Or do 'they' mean for this year? And if it is 'forever' - then what? No more Lexus supercar?
how many people do you think would pay so much for a car with no prestige, that's slower than all the cars that cost less than half of its price and come with better names ? they will be lucky if they manage to sell all 500 units.
They'll sell every one. Most are already spoken for.

        sparrk

Your perpetual hangup with "brand prestige" indicates that you're very insecure, and ignorant. You'd probably buy slave-made clothes from Abercrombie and Fitch because it's a "good brand" right?

You'd be the kind who's totally unable to appreciate hand made, fine quality clothing because it doesn't have a big brand stamped across the chest, but was made by some sweatshop labor. You'd prefer The Outback to a real steakhouse, Carabbas to a real Italian restaurant, etc etc.

In your twisted mind, is a brand name a magical voodoo stamp that gives the item special power to be better? Do you think the iPhone is anything more than Chinese made garbage, because they stuck an apple on it? Are you a totally ignorant moron, unfit to comment about the objective merits of anything ever? Apparently the answer is yes.

man the digital gauges look nice and fluid, not clunky looking ... the more i see about this car the more i like it, although i don't know how he said, "lets just forget about the price" lol ...
Because our perception of its price is irrelevant.

It is not for sale. It is a gift from Lexus to those who have more money than they can spend in 2 lifetimes.

Awww sparrk, what do you drive? Some POS so you have to rag on nice cars? LOL @ you.

Has it had the pedal recall?
