2011 Aston Martin Rapide in Hardly Green - Click above for high-res image gallery

You might remember that we already posted quite a few photos of the Aston Martin Rapide, but apparently the British automaker thought that wasn't enough. Dozens of new photos have been released of this fabulous four-door showing just about every detail and angle.

The photos also display the Rapide in a variety of colors. Feeling feisty? Check out the Rapide in Magma Red. Want something classically British? Go for Hardly Green. And if you're in the mood for something more subdued, the Quantum Silver or Silver Blonde will surely do. You can view each of the colors in the high-res galleries below.

Finally an instant classic. There aren't many designs that have any kind of staying power, freshness, or a hint of purposfulness. Mechanically this car sounds absolutely brilliant too. This design appears to have it all, and I would love to have that brick colored leather in any of my cars. I want that soooo much! For a sedan this is definitely a 10.

Indeed, I can't think of another four door in production this decade with the kind of longevity of design imbued by the rapide, nothing comes close. This makes up for the lagonda, in spades.

      Stunning car...

Is that leather INSIDE the cup holder? Might be a bad plan.

For when Bond, James Bond decides to settle down and have a family. But seriously, what a fantastic looking car.

The way they disguise the A pillar by having the glass continue over it is the cleverest bit of car design I can remember in a very long time. It is the key to this car - and the reason it blows all the other new sport tourers / gran turismo's out of the water in terms of looks.

      Quantum Silver.

Quite possibly the most significant argument that astons don't need to be as quick as their competitors. I'll take this outside and IN over a panamera any day.

I know I am going to get lambasted for this comment but here goes...

This car represents to me anyways, staleness at Aston Martin. They took the aging DB9 platform, and created this stretched 4 door.

What I am just dying to see is the Fisker Karma parked next to this thing. It would reveal which car took the design language of the existing AM fleet and brought it into the current decade... the Fisker is bulging, flowing, graceful, and just gorgeous. This car viewed in isloation of the Karma looks okay. Viewed next to the Karma, to me, looks like a the predecessor.... it is just not in the same league.

      Let the lambasting begin....

Stale? Porsche has been making the same car for 40 years -- a wind-tunnel VW Bug! And now they have an elongated, 4-foor squished Bug that continues to look like a full vacuum cleaner bag resting on its side.

@ suspekt360 , i'm with you , the DB9 was the best looking car of its generation when it came out , but now it looks dated.

If you make the sexiest front engine cars currently being made, and the design is so coherent, yet scalable from two seats to four doors...

Why the hell would you try to "fix" what so clearly is not broken.

The market is full of companies that try and re-invent aesthetics, just to re-tread ugly...

So few cars get it right, why would you try to change it out of being right, once you have it?

Stale is the LAST word in the english language that I would use to describe Aston Martin's aesthetics.

for the record.... i think the best looking car in the AM fleet is the v8 Vantage. In fact, I think it is one of the best looking cars currently in production period.

I dont know how to put it, but to me the DB9 lacks the hour glass figure. Its not full figured the way the Vantage or the Karma is.

My overall point was simply that Henrik Fisker designed the better looking 4 foor car. The Rapide is not in the same league design wise as the Karma.

Lastly, if the Karma was targeted at the price point the Rapide is (which it couldnt even they wanted as there is no brand heritage to attached the premium too), the finer details related 'perfume' on the car would certainly measure up more completely. But from a pure design standpoint, the Karma still knocks my socks off.

Looking at the main picture, I had to do a second glance to see a rear set of doors.

This car is without a doubt the most beautiful 4 door on the market. It's absolutely thrilling to see a company do something right.

Dare I say, it's even prettier then the DB9?

it is, and drives just as well!

This sends the Panamera running off with its tail between its legs. AM got it right. Simply breathtaking.

It's soooooo much better looking than the Panamera. That number plate on the Hardly Green car, "AML 1" - it seems to me that was the same plate number that was on the first Aston Martin Lagonda, way back when (1977?). Showing my age here.
