Onyx Bentley Continental Platinum GTO – Click above for high-res images

GTOs come, and GTOs go. Although the Pontiac GTO may be long gone, Ferrari is working on a new 599 GTO. Now Irish tuning house Onyx Concept – which previously worked up the Range Rover Sport and Vogue – is releasing a GTO of its own.

Based, as you can see, on the Bentley Continental GT, the Onyx Continental Platinum GTO packs a host of visual and performance modifications in an effort to take what is widely known as the "Camry for rich folks" to GTO levels of performance. That includes boosting the power from the W12 engine from 553 horsepower to beyond 640, although Onyx hasn't disclosed exactly how that's been done. The suspension has also been dropped to the ground like the pants on an American Idol contestant. 22-inch matte black alloys compliment a body kit comprising of a new front bumper with LED daytime running lights, wider wheel arches and carbon fiber splitter, decklid spoiler and rear diffuser.

Onyx says the Platinum GTO will be available beginning next month. Along with the pair of images (which we've posted to the gallery below), those are all the details available at this point in the press release after the jump.

Didn't smoked headlight covers have their 15 minutes of cool back in the '80s?

      Tints are cool...

Not when your doing 120 and you want to be able to see your peripherals.

      Umm... no.

Not to mention that that was done up by some 6th grader in MS Paint.

Take off the LED lights, the gigantic license plate and remove the hood scoops (not sure if they serve a function or just for show but in either case) and the ONYX from the back, and it looks hot!

I am not sure whether to call this rice, kraut, or british food.

      Either way it is distasteful.

I thought Bentley, and those who deal with Bentleys would be a little more dignified.

Just goes to re-enforce the notion to never under-estimate the oddity of people.

No matter how gaudy and terrible it looks; price it high enough and someone in the UAE will buy it.

Despite all the crap hanging off it, I bet a Miata would still beat it around the track (Road & Track this month - Challenge between Conti GT Supersports with 621 hp and a stock Miata. See video at the site).

Call it people in pro sports with money that only care about a price tag. People in NFL, NBA, Euro Soccer League wuteva its call there FIFA?, they have the money to buy these craps. N they r the one to mod it like this, horrible taste. Money doesnt = taste nor driving skills.

@Paul, a miata wont beat a Bentley supersport around a track, because despite all its bad name, it is skill a good car, a good track day car.

I think it looks better than the boring as bread stock version. "Camry for the rick folks" sounds about right to me.

I have a beautiful 2006 Bentley continental Flying Spur, but I don't understand why the need for a ghastly looking new Platinum GTO, maybe it's a male thing.
