2010 Monster World Rally Team Ford Fiesta – Click above for high-res image gallery

Assuming for a moment that you won't be watching any stages live, what could possibly be better than strapping into the living room recliner and watching World Rally Championship coverage here in the United States? How about watching that very same coverage in glorious high definition? You're in luck, as Discovery's HD Theater plans to air the entire 2010 season, the start of which is coming up fast.

The action will begin on Thursday, February 25th at 10 PM Eastern with the Rally Sweden event. Racing will continue on Friday and a follow-up episode will be aired the following Sunday night from 10-11 PM ET. The second race, the Corona Rally Mexico, will follow the same schedule from Thursday, March 18th through Sunday, March 21st.

In case you're wondering, Ken Block will indeed be taking part in the 2010 Rally Sweden behind the wheel of his brand new Ford Focus RS, giving American viewers a hometown hero to pull for. Air dates for the remainder of the 2010 WRC season will be announced later.

Does anyone know if Discovery HD in Canada will be picking these up? There seems to be a huge disconnect between the US and Canada Discovery programming.

      Go go Raikkonen!

So glad to see coverage picked up by someone in the US. Some of the best racing around. Kudos to Discovery HD. Too bad Speed channel has their head up their a$$ has gone the way of MTV with their reality TV programming. Thank FOX for that.

Amen to Speed TV2. The current Speed can't be bothered with real racing anymore. That would take away too many episodes of Wrecked or Bullcrap one helluva a bore.

It was nice to see 16 hours of coverage for the Rolex 24. The guy that approved that has surely been fired by now. :)

It's time for a Speed TV 2, "Where The Racing Is At."

Ken is running a Fiesta in the US with Rally America, and a Focus WRC in a few selected WRC events.

I am very excited for WRC to return to HD Theater. The only reason I got HDTV was to watch WRC. I just wish there was coverage of Rally America and IRC rally events.

So when is the next WRC race and when will it be televized on Discovery? I think they said Rally Jordan is next on the schedule, sometime in April. Or was the Mexico Rally the last to be televized? Hope they plan to cover the entire series this year.

Im confused, Rally Sweden starts Thursday 11 February - Sunday 14 February

Why HD Theater showing 2 weeks later? Pointless.

        my sentiments exactly..what gives?

Huge thankyous to Discovery for cutting the deal to get the previews and the dailes like the rest of the world. I am sure the viewer shares will reflect this as a good move.

And continued thanks to Eurosport for covering the drivers that actually perform. I have every expectation the name Ken Block will only be read as an also ran or a dnf at the conclusion of each program. Enough of the showboat already. Go to Vegas and peddle your act like Celine Dion and other has beens.

ummmm, this isn't the same coverage as last year.

Last year Discovery HD Theater ran a 1 hour highlight show for each event, this year they'll have a preview show before each rally and all three days will have their own highlight show.

Discovery HD is awesome.. its like all car oriented shows that they run.

Cant wait for this season of motorsports, it should be a good one.

For those tuning in and wondering where Ken is, he will not be starting his WRC campaign until Mexico. He will NOT be in Sweden (at least not driving, he may be watching).
