2011 Audi R8 Spyder promo film – Click above to watch video

In case you haven't already, Audi wants you to give this angry little mongrel, the 2011 R8 Spyder, a chance. To encourage you to lean in its favor, Audi has put together 91 seconds of rather dramatic footage (and screamin' 5.2-liter V10 audio) to show you what it can do for you, if only you would allow it the opportunity. Not to put too fine a point on it – we're sold.

Follow the jump to check out the vid and decide if it changes your mind – or only makes it up more.

Awesome video, I liked every detail of it. It's amazing that Audi made this car as sexy and as beautiful as the coupe.

If only I could find a place for this in my heart and garage. Ok, so just my heart. I don't have a garage.

      Neat car. Annoying video.

I am sold not much of a convertible fan but the coupe would do. If I could only get the kids and the wife to understanding eating and having a house is optional...

Awesome, Awesome, Awesome. I'm very happy with how well Audi managed to pull this car off, I had my serious doubts from early photos. Brilliant. I don't think there's another Spyder I'd rather own for the money.

I know I'll get flamed for this, but I think like the regular coupe better.

The drop-top looks too much like a TT. (which is not a bad looking car, but it's no R8 either)

I agree, the coupe is much better. Much more aggresive, better looking, more usable, and probably lighter too. Without the roof you're giving up one of this cars biggest advantages, daily driver usability. But people will buy it, just like they do F430 convertibles. Blah.

      love it. white.

still leaves me wishing that Audi had managed a way to incorporate the side-blade look on this model. i think it would have helped to bolster the brand/model. must be a reason, would like to have been in the room for that discussion.

R8 without sideblades is just wrong. i think they were afraid if they make the car too pretty it would hurt the Gallardo Spyder. early render of the R8 cabrio , there are better, newer renders of the brown car with sideblades, but i can't find them now :

You've seen this car in person? Next to a coupe? And still want sideblades?
I don't miss the sideblades on the droptop.
was there a sketch or version that had
        some sort of sideblade look?

I'd love to see this car in real life soon.

The coupe is soo great, I think the convertible looks
better than I expected, I hope that someone
in my neighborhood steps it up and gets one of these.

I hate to nitpick, but why do you say 91 seconds? That is clearly an 83 second clip, no?
      very well put together commercial

Just a note to say thank you for spelling y'all properly.

I was pleasantly surprised at the NAIAS that you could get so up close to the brown R8 V10 coupe. People were touching it as if they knew the chance to get so close to a 150k+ supercar is fleeting.
